******************************************************************************************************* STARCRAFT: Cataclysm of Fear, by 133tmonkee5877 ******************************************************************************************************* It was a dark and stormy night on the outpose planet Mar George. The terrans were busily building up their base and readying for defense against an enemy attack. The terrans had owned Mar George for several months in order to mine the rich resources. Of course, that also meant that enemies might be looking to take over the Mar George installation themselves. Everybody agreed that this would probably cause a really, really awesome war scene sometime soon. Suddenly, it happened! The guards screamed out "Zerg!" It was an attack! Zerglings poured into the base and started hacking away at everything. "They're coming through the walls!" A terran yelled before he erupted into gore. Some of the gore splattered the face of his mother, who screamed as a zergling slithered up to her and stabbed a claw through her esophagus. It used the claw to rip out her ribcage, the old woman grabbing feebly at it as blood rained from her open chest. As the ribcage emerged with a thick slopping sound, her lungs and heart fell from the bloody mess and splattered on the ground. The zergling stuck its head into the woman's now open chest cavity, slurping at her remaining bowels as she tried to scream. However, only a thick spray of blood and vomit emerged from her throat. "Oh my god, mom!" Screamed a voice. It was the first guard's twin brother. He had just witnessed both his family members savagely killed. In his horror, he took off his mask, throwing up his fists and screaming curses to an uncaring God. At that moment, a hydralisk squirmed up beside him, snagged him up, and began spitting acid into his ear. The soldier screamed and screamed as the acid slowly melted its way through his cartiledge, boring its way bloodily into his skull. His last sensation was of the bottom of his skull melting away, his own brain falling through and lodging itself in his throat. As it did so, the soldier's gag reflex caused his stomach to contract, vomiting upward to displace the brain. The thick stomach acids themselves burned easily through the cerebellum's soft fatty tissue, the soldier feeling with his dying breath the ultimate horror of literally eating his own brain. Terran guards on the top levels of the compound saw the invasion below, while they were momentarily safe from the rampage. They could only fire useless rounds into the madness below, but each zergling or hydralisk that they shredded to oozing, bloody ribbons was replaced by twenty more. Their only hope was the oncoming dropships to evacuate the survivors to a safer location. At that moment, two dropships approached from the foggy sky overhead and turned their spotlights on the pair of guards perched atop the north tower. The pilot onboard the first dropship shot them a grim smile and a thumbs up, signalling he was about to load them up. In that instant, however, the clouds parted to reveal an onrushing horde of mutalisks and guardians, terrible flying creatures of destruction. The mutalisks launched themselves upon the first dropship, smashing it with spores. The pilot onboard screamed aloud and attempted to fly off, but his engine suddenly exploded, engulfing the inner cabin in flames of 2,000 degrees. The guards below could only watch as the pilot frantically clawed at the sealed glass door, his skin crackling, searing, turning black and crumbling away to reveal boiling muscle beneath. The guard let out one final scream as his guts cooked alive, expanding and spewing out of his mouth. His eyes exploded in a wave of hot goo, and he crumpled against the controls. The dropship fell from the sky, plummeting onto the two terran guards. One leapt to safety, but the other wasn't quick enough--his legs and lower torso were splattered beneath the hull of the ship. Cruelly, the guard did not die right away, his upper body kept just alive enough to feel the agony of his remaining insides slowly burned away by the hot metal. The second guard, unfazed but shaken, outstretched a pleading arm to the second dropship before a mutalisk hit him with a spore, the spined object ripping him to quivering hunks of flesh. Blood erupted from his corpse. The well-aimed spore bounced from the guard, impaling the dropship and the pilot within. He looked down and screamed as he saw that the spine had come up from below, puncturing through the pilot seat and directly through his genitals. Blood spurted from the wound as the pilot, in absolute agony, attempted to dislodge the spine from his ruined gonads. However, his attempts were only met with an attack by a fleet of scourge, deadly suicide bombers which pelted his windshield and blew the dropship and pilot to pieces.
