FINAL FANTASY 7 FANFICTION: Cataclysm of Fear

CHAPTER ONE
Cloud woke up one morning and looked out over the destroyed landscape. It had been several months since he had singlehandedly destroyed the evil Shinra company and fought to the death with his rival Sephiroth, once the single most badass soldier in the universe. Sephiroth's death had left Cloud the most badass soldier in the universe, and Cloud was pretty psyched about that. He jumped out of bed and grabbed his sword which he kept next to the bed and started to walk out the door. "I wonder what's going to happen today?" Cloud said. At that moment, the city's siren started going off.
"THIS IS A CODE RED!" A loudspeaker planted overhead said. "ALL SOLDIERS ABLE TO FIGHT REPORT TO THE NORTH GATE. WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! THIS IS A DIRECT ORDER." Cloud looked pissed. Normally he was too badass to take orders from anybody but if enemies were attacking his city he was prepared to fight. Cloud held up his sword and ran toward the North Gate.

CHAPTER TWO
As Cloud reached the North Gate he was pretty surprised by what he saw. Enemies were pouring into the gate which was poorly guarded by a bunch of lame Shinra guard leftovers. The guards were getting beaten pretty bad, and Cloud remembered how lame most soldiers were especially when compared to him. He ran for the gate and said "If you're looking for trouble, you found him." Holy crap, Cloud rocks! All the soldiers cheered when Cloud joined the battle. Cloud noticed the enemies were all giant six-legged monsters. They bared their teeth at him which were like 7 inches long. Cloud wasn't scared at all. He used his sword to slice one of the monsters in half, laughing as he did so. The monster's blood sprayed out. "Watch out, it's acid!" A guard said. Cloud dodged all the drops of blood. Some of the blood dropped on one of the guards and he caught on fire. "Ahhhhg!" He said. Then he dropped down dead. "You bastards!" Cloud said. The guard who had died was Cloud's best friend and he had been going to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend. Now Cloud was totally pissed off. He picked up the flaming guard and shoved him down the throat of one monster. It screamed and exploded. About 200 gallons of acid blood flew out and covered the other monsters. The monsters all caught fire and ran around screaming. "Watch out, they'll blow the gas tanks!" A soldier said. The monsters were all heading for the gas tanks, planning on blowing up the whole city. Cloud realized all the other soldiers were dead and he had to do something. Thinking fast Cloud saw a water tank right above the monsters. He threw his sword up in the air and it hit the tank, spilling the water down on the monsters. It put out the fires but now the monsters were pissed off and heading right for Cloud! Cloud grabbed a handful of power lines which had been knocked down and held them in the air. "Get ready for a shock!" Cloud said. Then he threw the power lines into the water. All the monsters got zapped by the electricity and exploded. Cloud picked up his sword and walked away from the battlefield. Fighting got him pumped but he was pretty mad that his friends got killed. All the townspeople rushed out and cheered on Cloud. "Cloud is the man!" the kids said. Cloud waved to them and decided to go see his friend Professor Wiggins. The Prof had told Cloud last night that he had a new discovery in his lab. As Cloud ran to the lab he wondered what could get Wiggins so excited.

CHAPTER THREE
"This is what I call 'Super Destructoid Materia 6'" said Scientist Wiggins. Wiggins had been a scientist who worked for Shinra all of his life until his daughter died. Then one day his daughter died and Wiggins blamed Shinra. He swore that for the rest of his life he would hate Shinra and work against them. Now Wiggins had invented a new materia called Super Destructoid 6 and was explaining it. "Let me explain it." He said. "This materia is really strong, stronger than all the strongest other materia ever. It is stronger than 7 trillion nuclear weapons!"
"Wow, 7 trillion!" Cloud said. He took out his sword and struck a badass pose. "That's pretty strong... almost stronger than me but not really since I'm a badass." He waved his sword around and totally chopped this one guy's head off who was standing there spying. Cloud is awesome.
"That's right, 7 trillion." Wiggins said. "You'd better watch out. If you hold this materia and say a certain word there'll be enough explosions to drill a hole directly to the center of the entire world!" He tried to look badass but next to Cloud he just looked like some dorky scientist jerk.
"That's pretty cool." Said Cloud. "What's the word?"
"I'll tell you." Said Wiggins. "The word is... AHHHHHH!" At that moment Wiggins was shot by about 23 drone guns that just popped up. "Oh crap!" Said Cloud. He dove behind a bulletproof desk and prepared a strategy. "These Drone guns will be tough to beat... but not for me!" Cloud said. Wow, what a badass.
Cloud suddenly jumped up from behind the desk in super slow motion and went for the first drone gun. It was attached to the wall by cool spider clamp legs. Cloud chopped off all the legs which had electrical tasers on the ends. He then picked up the legs and swung them around his head, creating a huge wave of electricity. The electricity shorted out 17 drone guns, leaving only 5 left. The drone guns looked pretty scared as Cloud jumped around the room in slow motion some more. They shot about 28,000 bullets at him, but Cloud saw the bullets coming and dodged them all in midair. He threw his sword like a badass boomerang and it chopped one of the drone guns into 507 pieces. As it exploded it screamed really loud. Cloud then jumped into the air dodging more bullets, grabbed his sword, and came down with a huge cutting chop and cut one drone gun totally in half! Cloud picked up the bullet shooting part of the drone and used it to shoot the rest. They collapsed and exploded. Cloud went over to see if Wiggins was alright but he was already dead, covered in blood. Cloud picked up the materia in Wiggins' severed hand and ran out.
As Cloud left he ran into Tifa. "Cloud, you broke our date again." Tifa said, sounding pissed. Cloud hated it when Tifa was pissed but he had to admit she was still really hot. 
"Shutup, Tifa." Cloud said. "I have to go save the world again."
"What's more important, Cloud, the world or me and my total hotness?" Tifa said. Cloud made out with Tifa for a solid 15 minutes and then ran off again. Even though Tifa was mad, she was still hot and she had to admit Cloud was a total badass so she was pretty glad to be his girlfriend.

CHAPTER FOUR
Cloud exited town holding the most destructive force in the universe. A less badass soldier would probably have been pretty scared of the materia, but Cloud was pretty experienced so he was pretty much okay. Cloud suddenly had a badass idea. He would take the materia to Professor Ender, who was an expert on magic and materia. Ender would know all about Super Destructoid 6 and how to use it to do good/cool things instead of evil/cool things. However, Cloud realized the temple that Prof Ender lived in was like 500 miles away and he'd have to get into a lot of exciting battles before he got there. "I'd better get my posse together." Cloud said. He re-entered town and headed to Barret's house. On the way Cloud was stopped by a Shinra guard. "Hey, you!" Said the guard. "Hand over that materia... it'll be a great weapon once Shinra is reborn!" The guard said. 
Cloud said "What are you talking about! I singlehandedly defeated Shinra, they'll never be back!" The guard said "That's what you think. We're already working on a plan to resurrect Shinra, and then you'll be totally screwed. Now hand over that materia." Cloud got ready for a fight and raised his sword. The Shinra guard just smiled like a jerk and hopped around like a ninja. Cloud tried to think of a way to beat him. The guard was pretty fast, but Cloud saw one possible weakness. As the guard jumped past Cloud the next time, Cloud chopped off his legs. "Oh no, my legs!" The guard said. "My only weakness!" Now that the guard couldn't jump, Cloud cut off his head. The guard exploded. "Hmm... a robot." Cloud said. At that moment, a ton of little robots swarmed out of the guard's head. They were like little spiders with big tentacles. The tentacles waved at Cloud and tried to tie him up. Cloud deftly jumped through the wire net, but the wires couldn't be cut even by his big badass sword. "Crap, these little robots are too numerous to fight one on one." Cloud said. "Is that an invitation?" Said a voice behind him. "Barret!!!" Cloud said.
Barret had heard all the commotion from his house and come out to investigate. When he saw that Cloud was in trouble, he charged up his arm gun. "Let's do this." Barret said. Cloud joined him and the two prepared to fight. Suddenly, the robots all merged together into one gigantic spider robot. "They'll destroy the town!" Cloud said. "Not if we can help it." Barret said. Barret charged up his arm gun while Cloud prepared an attack. At the last moment, Barret said "Now!" Cloud ran up and jammed his sword right in the spiderbot's stomach area. Then Barret fired a charged shot from his arm gun. The energy bullet hit the sword right on the blade and all the energy heated up the metal. The spiderbot started going haywire, shooting sparks everywhere. Cloud dodged all the sparks in slow motion and grabbed his sword, dragging the hot metal all through the spiderbot. "Looks like you could use some cooling off." Cloud said, and he kicked the spiderbot right in a vat of liquid nitrogen that happened to be nearby. The spiderbot froze solid, and then Cloud kicked it shattering it into 1,009,362 pieces. "Awesome!" Said Barret, giving Cloud a high five. Then the two set off to have adventures.

CHAPTER FIVE
Cloud filled Barret in on the materia as they ran out of town. "Wow, that's some pretty heavy crap." Barret said solemnly. "Yeah, that's right Barret. Looks like we're the world's only hope again." Cloud said. They were running down a secret road that led into a big forest. As they approached they saw a sign. "Hey, I never noticed that sign before." Cloud said. They went over to investigate it. Barret peered at the sign. "It says 'Territory of the Neolords. Keep out.'" He said. "Nobody tells me to keep out of anything." Cloud said badassedly. So they went in.
The inside of the forest was dark and totally creepy. Cloud and Barret could hear a bunch of weird animal noises. They silently agreed that this place was filled with danger and they'd probably get into a really cool battle any second. Just to be safe Barret supercharged his arm gun. The gun lit up a section of the forest and Cloud suddenly stopped. "Who are you!!!" He said.
"What are you doing here?" Said a voice from the shadows. A guy dressed in a black cloak walked into the clearing. "Can't you read the signs?"
"You must be a Neolord." Barret said. "I don't know what the hell that is."
Cloud said, "Sounds to me like... target practice." Cloud said. He and Barret exchanged a really hard high five and Barret aimed his gun. But when he fired the gun, the Neolord dodged the energy and just smirked.
"Your weak gun hand can't defeat me." Said the Neolord. "You have no idea who we truly are. Perhaps it's time for me to show you what true power is." The Neolord reached under his cloak and produced two awesome looking glowing energy swords. Cloud got ready for the fight of his life. "Let's do this." He said loudly. Then he rushed at the Neolord.
As Cloud brought down his first sword stroke, the Neolord moved with lightning reflexes and slammed Cloud's sword aside with one energy blade. Cloud was amazed at how powerful this guy was. The Neolord then brought up his other energy blade and swiped Cloud's arm, tearing his sleeve and leaving a bloody cut. "Gah." Cloud said. He tore off part of his sleeve and tied it around the cut. Then he returned to the battle. Cloud realized he needed to use tactics in this battle. He rushed the Neolord again. Right when the Neolord stabbed out with his energy blades, Cloud jumped over his head in super-ultra slow motion. The Neolord tried to turn around but Cloud was too fast/awesome. Cloud stabbed his sword right into the Neolord's back! "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" The Neolord said. Cloud jumped back over its head and got right in its face. "Looks like you're suffering from back pain..." Cloud said. "It's usually not fatal, but this time... it is." At that moment though, the Neolord suddenly reached back and pulled Cloud's sword right out of his back... through his chest! Cloud and Barret were pretty surprised by this. The Neolord smirked at them evilly. "You didn't think you could defeat me that easily." It said. "Now, to destroy you once and for all..." The Neolord held up its energy blades and slammed them together. Suddenly a huge ball of energy started forming on the blades. Cloud and Barret realized they only had a few seconds to live, and that this would be really awesome as a cliffhanger chapter ending.

CHAPTER SIX
A little less than a few seconds later, a whole bunch of stuff happened.
Cloud heard a loud rustling in the bushes from behind them, the sound of shouting, and gunfire. He heard someone shout his name, and then the Neolord screamed. Cloud looked and saw that a ninja throwing star had appeared in its face! That was pretty cool. Then he remembered the energy ball. Cloud jumped to his left, pulling Barret down with him just in time to avoid the shot. The ball whizzed just above their heads. Cloud looked behind them and saw a group of Shinra guards leap out of the bushes. The leader looked exactly like the one who had attacked Cloud back at the city, and Cloud started getting pissed off just seeing him. However, an instant later the Shinra guard was vaporized by the energy shot. 
"Cloud!" Said a familiar voice. Cloud saw Tifa in the clearing. She must have followed them! Tifa was holding a handful of cool ninja stars. Cloud was instantly glad he'd taught her how to use the stars, because they were the coolest weapons ever besides his sword.
Cloud looked back at the Neolord and saw it frantically clawing at its face, trying to remove the star. In its efforts, it dropped one of its energy blades. Cloud grabbed it and prepared for a quick killing strike. As he did, the Super Destructoid 6 materia fell out of his pocket.
"Crap! Barret, grab the materia!" Barret lunged for the materia, but the Neolord looked down and saw it. Cloud saw a hungry look in his eyes. The Neolord reached down and grabbed the materia... and ate it! Wait, no, that's stupid. Let me go again. He grabbed it, looked dead in Cloud and Barret's eyes, and opened its mouth to speak.
And then, darkness.

CHAPTER SEVEN
"Wow, it’s really dark." Cloud said. He was floating through the air. He was in some new place that looked like space without a lot of stars. It was pretty boring so he spent some time striking a couple more badass poses. "Hey, I think I know where we are." Barret said. "I read about this place called the End of Time. Supposedly it links a bunch of parallel worlds together." "That’s awesome." Cloud said. "I bet if we went to some parallel universes, we could have badass adventures to the max." Barret agreed. Then they heard Tifa’s voice. "What happened, Cloud?" Tifa said. "I guess that Neolord activated Super Destructoid 6." Cloud said. They all took a moment to get totally ultra pissed at the Neolord.
"Does that mean our planet was destroyed?" Tifa said, sounding pretty pissed and sad, and hot.
"We have to figure out a way to get back." Cloud said. "Then we can save the world like we always do." Barret said, "Maybe we should head into a parallel universe and find a way home from there." They all shouted "Hell yeah!" and slapped high fives all around. Then they flew through the darkness in slow motion and entered a giant wormhole that happened to be nearby.

CHAPTER EIGHT
As Cloud, Tifa, and Barret flew through the wormhole, they were all pretty surprised by how cool it was. The wormhole was big and electrical looking, so it was pretty sweet. Suddenly as they were flying through, they saw something moving in the wormhole. "What’s that?" Tifa said. "Oh no, I read about this too. It’s the Boss of the Wormhole!" Barret said. "Let’s get ready for action." Cloud said, sounding totally pumped. The Boss of the Wormhole saw them at that moment and started flying toward them really fast. It looked like a giant dragon made out of electricity. The dragon roared and started shooting electricity out of its wings and hands. Cloud dodged the electricity but Tifa wasn’t so lucky. "Tifa!" Cloud said as Tifa was struck head-on by an electrical blast. "It’s all good." Tifa said, shaking it off like a true ho. Cloud was glad Tifa was okay and would have made out with her a couple times but right now all his focus was on the dragon. The dragon roared past them and came around for a second time. Barret said "I’ll destroy it using my attacks!" and started flying toward the dragon. Cloud went to back him up. Barret charged up his arm gun but the battery was dead! "Oh crap, I’m out of power." Barret said. He looked like he was dead for sure as the electric dragon circled around in slow motion. The dragon charged up its super special attack, which was creating huge giant electric blades in its hands. It charged at Barret swung the blades pretty hard. Cloud rushed up right between Barret and the dragon and pulled out the energy sword he had picked up, blocking the dragon’s huge swords. As the swords hit each other they made a really awesome electrical noise, like BZRRRSRZRRZTTTTZT! Cloud had to admit that was pretty sweet. Then he noticed the dragon was roaring in pain and he saw that his energy sword had sucked up one of the electric blades. "Looks like this sword is some kind of energy magnet!" Cloud said. He suddenly got an idea. He started spinning the sword in front of him really fast. The energy from the wormhole flowed into the blade and supercharged Cloud and his posse. Barret’s arm gun suddenly roared into life and when he checked his ammo it said "INFINITE SUPER ENERGY!" "Badass!" Barret said. He took aim and charged up his gun, firing a shot of blue energy at the dragon. The dragon screamed like a little girl and tried to fly away, but Tifa threw one of her new energy-stars and hacked off its wings. The dragon was toast. To finish it, Cloud leapt really high in the air in super-mega slow motion and came down with a 680-degree downward jab right into the dragon’s back. It roared and screamed as it was sucked up into the energy blade. "Wow, that was the most badass battle yet." Barret said. Cloud and Tifa said "I agree." With the boss dead they were free to reach the end of the wormhole, and they emerged into a world which rest assured contained a ton of mega cool plot twists and awesome battle sequences to the max.

CHAPTER NINE
