Labyrinth's IRC Tutorial:
Ok, here's the deal. The first thing you do,
obviously, is download the program, which you can do
here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html. Next, install it
and then open it up. The first window that has the
picture of the gay looking author you can just X out,
and that should bring you to the connect screen. There
you will need to fill out your personal information.
Nothing's really important except for the nickname,
where you will type in your alias.
From there, you're going to need to click on the Add
button in order to add the server we use. Under
description, type in Stratics. For irc server, type in
irc.stratics.com. Everything else should be good to
go, so hit the add button. Then from the connect
window again, click on Connect to IRC Server.
After that, you should be connected to the Stratics
IRC server. Type in the box at the bottom "/join #lk",
and that will enter you into our clan's channel. From
there you will need to register your nickname by
typing "/ns register *password*", where you replace
*password* with a password of your choosing.
That's all and well, and will allow us to add you to
the list to get channel operator access once you join
the channel. But you'll also need to add an identify
line into your perform options, so that when you
connect to the server you'll be identified by the nick
server automatically.
Do this by going to File>Options, then open up the
list under Connect. Then click on perform and check
the "Enable perform on connect" box, and in the prompt
add a line that says "/ns identify ". If you
wish you can also add another line for "/join #lk", so
that way once you connect you'll identify and join the
channel both. You should be set from here. gl hf, k
