| CLASS RULES and REGULATIONS | ||||||||
| DRESS OUT POLICY:
1.) Dressing out is mandatory everyday, unless directed by teacher not to. 2.) P.E. clothing must be worn for class, this includes: T-shirt/tank top/jersey, cut-offs or athletic/gym shorts, warm-ups or baseball/softball/football pants. School Clothes worn to school will not be allowed, even if it is suitable for P.E. class. 3.) Athletic/sports shoes must be worn. No other shoe apparel is allowed (e.g., any hard-sole leather/rubber shoes � Combat boots, Dr. Martin�s; platform shoes, zori�s, slippers, sandals, etc. 4.) Students must be dressed out before being given a pass to the Nurse, unless it is an obvious emergency. 5.) Eight (8) or more non-dresses is an automatic failure. 6.) Students not dressed will walk a pre-set course, and/or will partake in class activity or P.T. (physical training), and/or will do work detail till class is dismissed. 7.) Any of the P.E. dress requirements not met is considered not dressed. 8.) Parents will be notified and progress report sent home on the third non-dress, a copy of the report will be sent to VP-Curriculum/Personnel as documentation. 9.) Notes from parents/guardians to be excused from P.E. will not be honored, unless it is from a Doctor, and the student is not physically capable to dress and participate. 10.) Students with a medical/Doctor�s P.E. exemption must still make up days he/she is not dressed for, by writing a report for the appropriate number of days that the student is not able to dress. 11.) Students with a Doctor�s note must dress out if physically able to, but will not be required to participate in the daily activity, alternate activity will be provided. 12.) Female students who get their monthly menstrual cycle must dress out, unless a medical/Dr.�s note or school nurse gives exemption. 13.) ROTC students in uniform must dress out for P.E., uniforms can be hung up in the locker rooms or P.E. teachers� office if given permission. 14.) Showering after class is recommended, but not mandatory. Students� must bring personal towel and soap, it is not provided by P.E. Department. ATTENDANCE: 1.) By direction of D.O.E. Board policy, students who accumulate eleven (11) or more unexcused absences in a semester will receive a NO CREDIT (NC) for that semester. 2.) Students, who have a pattern of absences, will have their parents/guardians notified and will be referred to the Attendance office. 3.) It is the Student's Responsibility to provide an excuse/admit slip from their homeroom teacher for admittance back from absence/s. 4.) Only six (6) excuse notes from parents per semester. A Doctor�s note is required after the sixth, or it will be marked as unexcused. 5.) Students who are absent three days or more must bring in a Dr.�s/medical clearance, otherwise the absences are unexcused. 6.) Students can make up excused absences and tardy by writing a report or running laps. Unexcused absences and tardy cannot be made up. 7.) Field Trips on-island and off-island (sports/academic trips), must be made up. 8.) Suspensions and emergency/medical/family pre-arranged absences must be made up as well. 9.) Students have ten (10) minutes when the first bell rings, and five (5) minutes after the tardy bell to be dressed and be in roll call squads. LOCKERS and LOCKERROOM: 1.) Long lockers are to be used for athletes in season only, and must be registered. 2.) Teachers are not responsible for items stolen if left out in the open; students are advised to put all valuables and property in a locker and padlocked. A teacher monitors the locker room and the room is locked during class time. 3.) Female students are allowed to use a locker for the school year in the Girls Locker room. Male students may use lockers only during their P.E. class/period, as there are not enough lockers for permanent use. 4.) It is advised that each student should have his or her own padlock for a locker. 5.) Gym lockers are for clothing, shoes, and toiletries for P.E. class only, it is not a locker for books, and will not be open to get bags, binders, books, etc., during class time. 6.) Students are advised to get dress immediately for class, use the restroom during that time, and not to loiter when dismissed to change back for next class. BEHAVIOR: 1.) Improper conduct will not be tolerated. This includes: a.) Profanity and/or Obscene gestures. 25 push-ups � 1st offense and documentation of warning; 50 push-ups � 2nd offense, documentation of warning and/or referral to VP-Personnel, and parents/guardians notified; Referral for administrative action to VP-Personnel, request for conference with parents/guardians regarding student�s behavior � 3rd offense. b.) Show respect to teachers and fellow students. c.) Food, gum, drinks, or betel nut will not be allowed in class, and especially in the gym. d.) Smoking, spitting, or fighting will not be tolerated. e.) Abuse of P.E. equipment/supplies and facilities will not be tolerated. f.) Students must stay in class at all times until dismissed or given permission by teacher. g.) At the end of class, students must stay within the confines of the yellow boundary lines at the gym area till the bell rings. h.) No passes will be given to restroom, library, counselor, to use phone, etc., during class time. i.) No pagers, cell phones, walkman, discman, cassette/cd/radio player, guitar, skateboard, etc., will be allowed. These will be confiscated and turned in to VP-Discipline. INJURIES: 1.) All injuries are reported to the nurse. |
