Nissan to strengthen sports car lineup
Nissan has decided to concentrate on sporty models to establish a new and strong brand image. In addition to the Fairlady Z,
they plan to introduce the new Skyline equipped with a 3.5 liter engine. They also plan to add sporty types to their compact
passenger cars. Starting with the Skyline (ULEV), Nissan has strengthened sales by emphasizing their clean image. In parallel
with this, they also plan to develop a sporty image as a tool for expanding sales. The new Fairlady Z and Skyline are
scheduled to adopt the latest chassis technology (for L class models) in order to improve strength. The new Fairlady Z,
equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 and 6 speed manual transmission, will be on the market next summer. The new Skyline will have
the same powertrain as the new Fairlady Z. Nissan has adopted ?ero-shiftdesign and extroid CVT for the both models to create
unique and powerful driving. They also plan to introduce a full model change to the Skyline GT-R.
