Paradigm Shift: How long until we get it?

Jobs are disappearing at a horrendous rate. Unemployment is sure to shoot well past 10% this year (even the sanguine official figure, which understates the true situation by several percent).

AIG announced a 4th quarter loss of $62B. Where could that staggering amount of money have gone? Apparently they were “unwinding” their derivative holdings. This is just the tip of the black hole iceberg. The same scenario is unfolding in all large banks and financial institutions.

The meltdown is accelerating and feeding on itself. There is no bottom in sight, because what factors would there be to produce a bottom? This is totally unlike a typical recession, which is normally just a temporary trough in the business cycle. The PTB are still unwilling to speak truthfully about what is occurring, but events will be self-evident before long. The MSM is beginning to mention one “D” word (depression), but the other “D” word (derivatives) has yet to crop up sufficiently to qualify as truthful reporting.

By the end of this year, the general public will likely become aware that we are in the end stage of a series of bubbles that the PTB had employed in desperate attempt to keep the wheels turning. The derivative bubble had inflated to such unfathomable proportions, that there is simply no way to reinflate it or start yet another bubble. This is the end game, and the PTB realize it. Obama’s stimulus package is likely to be offset by an even larger amount of national wealth having evaporated before the funds can be dispensed. The 2 trillion in additional bankster bailouts being proposed is swamped by the quadrillion or so in derivative positions yet to be unwound. Eventually, reality will win out and become known.

The only hope, as this dreadful storm breaks, is to gain a thorough understanding of this reality of paradigm change. As I have said, either surf the wave or be swamped by it.

The sustainable economy that eventually rises from the ashes will be radically different from the present unsustainable predator-style capitalism. We can begin now to anticipate how this will operate, and to each begin our own transition. In the midst of chaos, there are many opportunities.
