DIABETES RISK FACTORS
Diabetes affects hundreds of thousands of Americans each day.
It touches the lives of millions each year. Many cases of diabetes however can be delayed or prevented!
Diabetics can slow down its progresson by doing simple things each day. There are several Risk Factors to watch for:
- Family History: If you have a strong family history of diabetes then
Prevention should start at an early age.
- Smoking increases not only your chance of getting diabetes but
it causes complications when you have it. This is a major Risk
Factor for diabetics.
- Obesetiy- This is a Risk Factor on the rise not only in adults but
also in juveniles.
The Risk of children getting diabetes is at an
all time high! Our life style and enviornments teach our children
habbits which lower their activity level.
The most important factor to remember is EDUCATION! As with all diseases the more you know the higher the chances of prevention are!
