CONCERNED ABOUT

Today I feel sad. I have heard all the news about Chris Benoit on all the local news stations and even online. Our world is so full of troubles, and it's not just the poor anymore who give up on life it's famous people. People we think have everything in the world to live for, have become bitter at what life hands them.

Growing up in West Virginia a lot of people became depressed about life because of the lack of jobs. Many men during the layoff at the coal mines ( WHICH was thier livlyhood) did desperate acts. I know of two men who put a gun in thier mouth and pulled the trigger. I was young at the time, but I remember feeling so sad.

Anytime someone takes thier life I feel for those who are left behind. I felt so shocked at the news of Chris and his family. MY heart broke. At first I had thought that perhaps someone had went to rob them, and that was how they were killed. After the news finally reported what happened, I was sick to my stomache. Someone that the world held as a role model did a horrible thing. After the shock was over I was left to wonder...How does life get that bad. I am concerned about how easy it has become to take a life...without thoughts of all those you hurt in the process.

I am concerned about the ways in which so many people are losing thier life. I hear news that just blows me away sometimes.

A young school boy stabs a boy to death over a girl. A pregnant mother killed and her unborn baby taken from her by another woman. An innocent young girl shot and killed in the back seat of a car, by a drive by shooting caused by road rage. Clerks shot and killed after doing just what they were told, by crooks for a few measly dollars.

Everyday the news goes on, and on, and on,with stories of senless killings. What has happened to our world. Does no one have joy in thier life anymore?

Does no one feel the need to get a job and earn a living, instead of killing someone for a few bucks?

Is everyone so sure that the only way to deal with life is to live on drugs that keep them "HIGH", don't they know that they will need more and stronger drugs to keep going?

Could our young Paris Hiltons, and other young celebreties making money hand over fist and living the "PARTY", glamourous life survive if everything they loved was taken from them tomorrow? Could even one of them have a husband, child, 3 dogs and 3 cats, manage to survive on $1200 dollars a month? (when they probably spend that in a day on entourage).

Yes, I am concerned for our youth. I am concerned about the life we are getting use to, where no one takes time to think about what harming someone does to that person's family, and friends.

I am concerned about teen-agers killing others with drunk driving, or of them being killed by drunk drivers. No mater how you look at it, No one should be drinking and driving, But we see it everyday. Evidence is left behind of that fact when you see high school kids mourning the lose of a loved one or friend, who's life was taken needlessly.

I am concerned about our society, that lives by the philosohpy that if it feels good it makes it right, WRONG will never become RIGHT, no mater how much we try to convience ourselves...that it is.

Yes, I worry about the choices my little girl will make in her life. I worry that she looks up to people who are NOT good role models. I worry that she thinks you can't be happy in life without the latest gadgets, and BLING. She has never had much in her life and she at times envies the Paris Hiltons and Showy celebs she watches on tv.

But I am glad that in the death of Chris and his family that she now understands that what you have in life will not make you happy. All the fame and fortune, and glitter, will not keep you from having trials in life. Sometimes those things become a source of heartache, and in the end, when it's too late, we realize that perhaps they would have been able to cope with each other and that precious little boy if they had been a little bit more into each other, and spent a little less time reaching for the best things in life. Now 3 lives are gone that cannot be replaced. For months fans will grieve. For years family members left behind will question just how this could have happened. No one will ever be able to make sense of this tradgedy...but they leave behind a message...Fame and fortune and even life can be taken from you in one split second of time.

My heart goes out to Chris' family, and friends, and fans that are left behind. The world has lost a great wrestler. I have watched wrestling for years and yes, he felt like family. I know all those around him, that knew him and his family, feel a great emptyness, that will be a place in thier heart that will never be filled. Yes Chris...YOU will be remembered.
