I'm really going to miss all of my students, but, as the mother of a daughter, I have a special place in my heart for the girls. I've had the privilege of being there librarian for over 5 years now. I've loved watching them grow up and explore their own personalities and interests.

For an ardent feminist, I sure end up talking clothes with the girls frequently! I guess we're just all obsessed. I"m still drooling over Sydney's light blue corduroy skirt with the matching net underskirt! Why don't they make this stuff in adult sizes? :)

Then there are accessories. Between jewellry, shoes and purses, we have quite a lot to check out. I'll never forget how much my students like my high top tennis shoes. I have them in white, black, pink, red, orange and green, and they just love them. And the girls' shoes are just so cute now!

Of course, the best part of being a librarian with girls is the sheer joy of getting in touch with my girly side. I was always a tomboy, but now I'm learning to enjoy my own feminine side. I love the laughs we've had, the tears we've shed together, and all of the hugs I've given and received.

Leaving these young women isn't easy, but I'm leaving knowing what amazing people they are becoming. And looking forward to seeing them again as they grow and change.
