The concet was UNBELIEVABLE! I get chills just thinking about it. When Eric Clapton came out on the stage and played the first few notes of "Pretending", I was in heaven. His voice and guitar sounded so good; and boy, he can still rock the house!

It was the best concert I've ever been to. The only band I think that would be better would be the 70s Led Zeppelin with Bonham, Plant, Page and Jones. Sigh. I'll have to go home and watch "The Song Remains the Same" yet another time.

Clapton had Derek Trucks with him, also on guitar. When they played "Layla", Trucks played the high soaring part while Clapton played rhythm. For those of you who don't know, Duane Allman actually played this part on the "Layla" recording. Trucks's uncle was the drummer for the Allman Brothers, so it was very cool to hear him play this beautiful part. He's quite a guitarist in his own right. I'd be thinking, "Man, this guy is GOOD!" and then Clapton would come back in and I was like, "WHOA!!!! No one is this good!"

I've always loved rock music. I like many guitarists besides Eric Clapton - Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Duane Allman, etc. Allman is probably my all-time favorite; I connect with his southerness. Ever heard his acoustic song "Little Martha"? Beautiful piece of musicianship.

I'm still hoarse from all the screaming I did at the concert; I even got to hold up my cell phone, like we used to hold up lighters. I never understood the whole "Eric Clapton is God" graffiti of the 70s. Now I agree. The times may be changing, but this man is still the master.
