What a week! I had my first test in ten years in the TV Production course I'm taking. I was in a total panic. I was never like that when I was younger, but then, I didn't have a life, either, and had tons of study time.

After my test we had to film each other using the Betacam, the type of equipment you see big news photographers toting around on their massive shoulders. I was afraid I'd drop it, but did okay with the Professor's help. Although it weighs 40 lbs, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Until the next morning; since we had to take a variety of shots including one bending our knees straight up and down, I was quite sore when I woke up. But it was really fun seeing what it was like to use the equipment, and how many mistakes we all made. Reading about filming in a textbook is very different than actually doing it.

Last night I watched the third episode of "Ugly Betty". I am completely addicted. What an amazing show! The writing, acting, costumes, sets - all incredible. It's so refreshing to see a heroine on tv who isn't bone thin and WASPY. I'd forgotten how painful it could be when you don't fit in. Reminds me of my own jr high days. It was rather difficult being a Parisienne in the middle of the cow pastures of Callahan! :)
