Today I had the honor to sub for Mrs. B's 2nd grade class. They were wonderful; sometimes I really wonder what it would be like to be a classroom teacher. But I love being a librarian too much to ever find out! :)

We went and picked up trash in the entire back parking lot and entry road. The guys did a SUPER job; it was hot and dirty work, but was worth it. The parking lot looked so much better afterwards. I suggested a jump in the pool, but we were afraid people would be suspicious if we came in soaking wet and smiling.

It's amazing how much trash people throw out - so many cigarette butts, candy wrappers, drink cans, etc. All of the students said they were never throwing anything on the ground again.

Now I have a group of 7th graders in watching "Simon Birch"; what a beautiful funny sweet movie. If you haven' seen it, please check it out today from your local library, or rent it from a video store. It's worth it.
