How I long for an old-fashioned Christmas, Like the ones that they had long ago, So happy, so peaceful, so joyous; Oh, where did those good old days go?
Back then, they would cut down a real tree, Then trim it with things made by hand; They'd place a home-made star on top, And think that it looked really grand!
Back then, families gathered together, For church service on Christmas Eve; They always kept Christ in their Christmas, Back then, everybody believed.
They knew that the birth of a Savior, Was the reason for this special day. Not shopping, and spending a fortune, For gifts to be soon tossed away.
They knew the real meaning of Christmas, That it's not about presents, and such; They knew Christmas was about the Savior God sent, 'cause He loved us so much.
Did you ever stop to wonder why Folks were happier way back then? This year, let's try to turn back time, And put Christ in our Christmas again.
