~ May Angels Watch Over Me This Christmas ~ I see Christmas trees and gifts for family and friend May angels watch over me, for I am alone again No gifts or tree for Christmas do I find Nor a special meal divine, With turkey and fresh corn Nor do I have a manger to put the baby Jesus on. Here on His birthday, no memory to keep May people all over the world Have a closeness, I have never felt, May little children smile, on their Mama's lap I hope they have homemade cookies Their eyes full of wonder yet, May they believe in love's miracle, forever in this way May angels watch over me this lonely Christmas Day. There is no reason for crying because I have no-one at all For I can dream of Christmas in my past When my mother made my lovely dresses Beautiful dolls with Christmas lace to clasp, Homemade cookies, a turkey meal Most of all, the love that I could feel. May angels watch over me this Christmas There will be no party I can see I guess it was not to be, Oh! how I would love to have a family of my own To see my children on their knees Looking what Santa left beneath the tree 'Is there something my husband bought just for me'.
