I signed up for a 5K today...the Boo Run.
Well, God knew I was struggling with this 5K, so he took the decision making out of my hands. I told myself last night to set the stupid alarm and make the decision in the morning. The alarm went off and I layed there in the bed...even rolled over for a second before I got out of bed. Hubby said "It's been raining all night." Excitedly I sprang up and ran to the livingroom...I let the dogs out and YES!! RAINING!! HAHA!! WOO HOO! Obviously I really didn't want to do this 5K, with how excited I was that the weather wasn't cooperating. I squinted out the back door, trying to watch the dogs in the pitch black rainy weather, until I decided they'd probably gotten wet enough and I opened the door. Bloop. Bloop. Two wet dark forms flew in, panting and happy...apparently all peed out...lol. Dry them off as best I could and all three of us happily went back to bed.
It's an overcast, windy day here in (ha) Sunny Florida today. When I went back to bed, I was almost thinking I should go out there anyway, because with the rain, fewer people would show up and my chances of actually getting a prize would increase...but then I came back to reality about how horribly my body performs in the rain...and how I generally stiffen up and get horrible cramps for a couple days after running in the rain and how I REALLY don't want to have to suffer for the next 3-5 days and I snuggled back under the covers and fell back asleep.
Hubby was so kind this morning and because I let the dogs out so he could sleep in a little longer, he drove over to Dunkin Donuts (drove because of the weather...it's just across the busy street) and brought back breakfast...coffee and a fritter for me. I'm doing good holding my weight in check without logging! I'm very excited about that!! I should say that I've lost 60 pounds since Feb 2004 - having hit my goal of "High School Weight" in April 2006.
Since I didn't do the 5K today, I have to (and this was all part of my deal with myself that I made last night...) clean the dining room - no small feat! - and catch up on my Bible study homework this weekend. I was going to try to get my car cleaned out, too, but with the weather all crappy like it is...that probably won't happen, so I'll let myself slide on that one.
The Blues Fest is today in Sarasota. I hope the weather clears up enough for that to still happen. Hubby wants to go to that if we find out how to not spend an arm and a leg on it.
Tomorrow would be Church, Disciple and my VERY good friend, Denise, is having a "Gory stories of the Bible" party...since she couldn't get herself to allow a Halloween party...LMAO! If you haven't read 1Kings and 2Kings...LOL There are a TON of horror stories in there! Wars up the wazoo and gory deaths. Her daughter is going as Jezabel. Jezabel was tossed over the city wall where every bone in her body ended up broken and before they could run around from inside to get to her to give her a decent burial...the wild dogs ate her and all that was left was a skull. Gory enough for you? Or what about Mary, who had leprosy for 7 days? Leprosy, where parts of the body fall off. Heck...even Jesus was whipped and bloodied and a crown of thorns was shoved on his head. He was stuck with a spear and he was crucified. That's pretty gory.
So...I have a busy weekend planned. It's hard work having fun! Sure, some of you think some of what I do wouldn't be fun for you...but you'd be surprised if you gave it a chance. Like I said...the Disciple class is reading and learning about all the stuff I mentioned about the gory stories of the Bible party! How cool is that, that she is having that party, and I'm just learning about all that stuff? I find that amazingly cool. She's bringing up all these characters and I'm going "Yeah! I know that story!" because I just learned about it last week...or the week before. It's a God thing. God is so good! He blesses me every day and I praise Him with everything I have. I do everything I can to glorify Him.
God bless you, too! Peace to you this day. Come back again!
