Walk, walk, walk, walk...Get used to it.
One mile this morning before work...3 miles after work. My friends at On A Shoestring have their Monday walk group and each Monday that I show up, Steve mentions that I'm walking in the 3-day. Tonight, 2 ladies latched on to me and asked me questions and talked my ears off about breast cancer and mammograms...I'm betting it's a little taste of what the event will be like. I pretty much just answered their questions real briefly and listened...and listened...throwing in a little "Oh yeah?!" and a "WOW!" or a "Oh MY!" here and there. One lady is older - well past retirement age and just likes to talk, talk, talk...the other is wishing she were in shape enough to do an event...any event. It was a VERY interesting 3 miles.
Oh...and Steve showed me this REALLY cool pedometer...no, that's not giving it enough credit!! It's a GPS unit that tracks mileage, pace, time...and you don't have to set it to your stride!! I am SO getting me one of those! He's like "well, the only down-side is they start at $110 and go up from there depending on which model you get...each model has a few more features...like rechargable batteries, you can plug it into your computer and keep track of all your stuff...and HRM..." I'm thinking..."$110...$160! PAH! GIVE ME!!!!!" Must....Have.....Patience. No impulse buying - because I can't just whip the money out of my butt. Nope, I haven't perfected that feat yet...Wish I could, because that would solve a lot of problems we have around this outdated household...but, alas, I can't yet do that.
Deep breath...*sigh*
