OK!! Whew. First day of "OFFICIAL 3-day training"

Slept for crap last night. Eric is coughing and sneezing all over the place. His allergies have turned into a cold or something. He slept horrible...thus, I slept horrible.

Woke up this morning with the alarm clock. Unusual. See, Our bedroom is pretty dark in the morning and I have a terrible time waking up in the dark...so, I've set a lamp on a timer to go off at 5:30 or so (I think it's about 5:39am these days...power outages and all). The alarm is set for 6:05, I think. The alarm woke me up, not the lamp. Unusual. Usually the lamp wakes me up and I roll over and cover my head until the alarm goes off. I was SO exhausted (sleep is usually worse in a strange bed and we just got back from vacation...then, E's noisiness) that I slept right thru the lamp-bit.

ANYWAY...I hit the normal 2 snoozes and then said my morning prayers and rolled out of bed. Got to work by 7:30am for our START! Walking Program. There are an average of 4 of us walking in the mornings...one mile before work starts.

Work was ok. Busy morning and then slowed down to normal after lunch. Lunch was carrots, celery and salsa. GOOD salsa...and it's yummy on celery. Who KNEW?!? There are three of us who meet out at the Gazebo to discuss the Bible and other such things. Today we talked about Baptism. The Gazebo is about a 1/4 mile round trip...maybe a little farther.

After lunch, the afternoon actually went pretty quickly. Had enough to keep me busy. Then, after work, I headed over to On A Shoestring - my friends' walking / running store. On Monday nights at 6pm they have a walking group. I walked 3 miles today. My fibromyalgia has been flaring this past week and the last mile it reared it's ugly head...my shoulders cramped up pretty badly and I had to drop my speed for a little. Of course, once I got back onto the main road where there were lots of cars to see me, I was too vain to be going slowly!

Met a woman (Jeanie) from the Health Dept who may be interested in joining the 3-day. I'm going to send her my letter and some motivational tips...I hope she signs up. She was walking with the group, and if she signs up, I'll have someone to walk with who will be at the event in October.

So, for being my first official training day, I did good. After walking, I went to Publix and got stuff for this AWESOME salad my Mom got me hooked on while I was up North last week. (I'll post the recipe) Then I went home, showered and ate that salad for dinner.

Now...it's about bed time.

Plans for tomorrow...Bible Study in the morning, so no walk before work.

Tomorrow's training is cross training, so I'm going to Yoga class at 6pm. It will be good for my fibro, I think...we'll see. I haven't gone to class while I'm in a flare. Of course, maybe this darn flare will decide to go away by then?!? Full moon is gone...don't know why this flare is so bad this month.
