Breast Cancer 3-day 2007

Ok, so I've gone and done it. Not the first crazy thing I've done...by a long shot. I've signed up to WALK the Breast Cancer 3-day this year instead of crew it. Yup...60 miles over 3 days. Now, I've got to raise at least $2200 and start training...I'm not worried about the training. They say as long as I can keep a 3 MPH pace...A 3 MPH PACE! PAH! I now have 32 weeks, 12 hours and 40 minutes before I get ready to head up to Tampa (Unless I go the night before)...I think I have time to train. Nope...not too worried about the training at this point. I'm feeling good about it.

Fundraising? Well, I've got a LOT of letter out already...and I've raised $430 so far. I also have lined up a Fundraising Foot Pamperin' Party at Denise's. We've got a planning "party" this weekend...I imagine it will be the latter part of April. I also have Bob and Todd at work who have taken the reins and are helping me BIG time with planning a Golf Tournament. See, they plan one every year here at work, and they haven't done it yet this year...and, well, they've just jumped on this wagon and are quite happy about helping me out...I'm meeting with Debbi on Tuesday to get some "beggin' " letters for prizes written and out in the mail, so we don't have to use the entry fees for prizes, but we can use that for fundraising...plus, Bob's trying to think of other ways to raise money...plus, maybe we can "raffle" off one or more of the donations we get via Debbi's letters. Then, if I get all that done and I still need (want) to, Mary has offered her expertise of putting together a Pancake Breakfast at the church - I'm thinkin' I'm probably pretty good on the fundraising part!

God told me to walk this year...God is making sure I don't have anything get in the way. I love God...don't you?

This week I started my training. I walked 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym on Monday...in 47 minutes. I had a blood drive yesterday at work, so I put down 4 miles, even though I think I put in more than that...my pedometer said 8.5, I figured play it safe and log 1/2. Today, I'm headed to the gym again to log another 3 miles on the treadmill. Saturday is Latin Dance (Cross Training) and then I'll probably do 3 miles on Sunday before church. Not bad for a first week!
