Life as Laura
Madly in love with Hubby, Laura lives life to the fullest as she struggles daily to glorify God in everything she does.
Entry for November 28, 2006

Wow, I thought I'd have a hard time getting up this morning, but God is GOOD! Not much to do this morning - good thing. Everyone is beat. Almost everyone went into town. The guys loaded everything up in preparation for leaving. The job box is going on to Singapore for Sapphire Princess, so they sorted through it for what they wanted to send on to there and took the rest up to the container, except what they would need later for sanding out the caulk. Meanwhile, Kenneth and I sanded and applied sealer and Heavy Traffic (2 coats of each) to the 2 round floors in the Horizon Court. We worked until 5:30p. The other guys knocked off early and then came back at 5p to sand out the Calypso Bar. They flushed the water lines with chlorine, so we couldn't use the showers or drink the water or wash our hands for quite a number of hours. When I got off, I threw my laundry in...the dryers were overloaded and not working well, so I yanked my wet clothes and hung them in the closet while I ate dinner (Rigatoni, bread, potatoes, cukes, tomatoes, carrots, cauliflower and creamy Italian - cold water) and met everyone at the bar for one last night of beer - crappy Bud Light. I had one. French beer is certainly better than American! OH! I had an Italian Coke...You'd think it was the same, but it's not. It tastes different and the ingredients are different - not as many (Though they were in Italian, I don' tknow for sure what they are)

Breakfast this morning was a fried egg, potatoes and an oat bran muffin. Lunch was nummy pizza! It was GOOD! I could have eaten 3 pieces! - and a picked thru salad - what I think was banana cake.

We picked up a LOT of crew members in France yesterday. Some of them are really nice - some seem to think we (contractors) are just in their way - unimportant - fleas on a dogs behind. I even caught one trying to steal our extension cord...unplugging the spot light and starting to walk away with it. I was like "Um, excuse me. That's ours." and he said, "Oh, it is?" DUH!

So, everything is done now. We get off the ship in the morning. Despite all the problems, we've had a successful drydock. Evan has told me 3 times (Only once I asked) that he's very happy with the job I've done. He's got pictures of me "In the sh*t" that he can't wait to show Terry Dodge who was so sure I wouldn't succeed. Who swore I'd be so sore on day 2 I'd give up and be worthless. HA! Joke's on YOU, Terry Dodge! I kicked butt every day! And I never gave in - didn't quit working until I was told to. I made all the guys promise to say, at least once "Laura worked harder than you are" to Dodge, because they will all be on Sapphire Princess together! Hee hee hee.
