LEKEY DORJI for BARDO-TRONG CONSTITUENCY
I intend to informally put pertinent information and issues on Bardo, Shingkhar, Nangkor and Trong for 2008 elections!
On the way to Berti

This is me on the way to Berti, a small village two hours walk from Tingtibe.  A village elder, a retired civil wireless operator and the village tshogpa had come to welcome us ( me and trong chimi) to their village. Berti village has a lot of potential to become economically developed. I feel that there is a big role for social workers in a village such as this.

From the way this web is run, I can feel that Lekey Dorji really meant to serve the people he would like to represent. Congratulation! Kheng has been neglected during its entire history. I pray that your voice and vote in the new government can make a difference ... if not just make a small but a right beginning. Small spark makes a big bonfire!

Two young men flanking Lekey must surely have been school drop-outs. Policy makers would have all students pass all standards and perhaps study in premier institutes. But without young people with some functional literacy and brawn to carry heavy load and lift heavy plough (la khor), rural life would be impossible.

Thanks to these young people who dropped from schools (blessing in disguise) that he rurual communities are vibrant. We should encourage more young people to stay behind as much as we encourage them to study hard in school.

Thimphu is a microcosm of New York, not Bhutan. If you want to see real Bhutan, walk to one of the villages.

Thanks Lekey for reveaking it.
