LEKEY DORJI for BARDO-TRONG CONSTITUENCY
I intend to informally put pertinent information and issues on Bardo, Shingkhar, Nangkor and Trong for 2008 elections!
Glimpses of Shingkhar Primary School

Me addressing the students of Shingkhar school. This school, started in 1976, has the biggest impact of all modern facilities in the area. Many engineers, government and corporate officers, anthropologists, doctors, conservationists, and many others call this school their beloved alma mater.

Yangfai Welfare Fund (YWF) is a Tshogpa, composed of college graduates from Shingkhar geog, based in Thimphu and it was formed sometime in 2000. I served as its first president. Through this Tshogpa, top three students in academics in class VI are given a scholarship fund of Nu. 2,500, 1,500 and 1,000 annually to encourage the students.

Shingkhar primary school where Lekey Dorji studied and topped All Bhutan Class V examination is one of the most sucessful schools in Bhutan. If my friend who is from Wamling is to be believed, there are about 30 graduates from Wamling alone, of which seven had completed their masters and six of them are engineers. This is quite an achievement. I heard that there are only a handful of graduates in some geogs.

I graduated from this school in 1985. Like Lekey Dorji I did not topped whole Bhutan but I did fairly well. I am happy that Lekey Dorji is running form my constituency for MP. I have trust that he can deliver; however, I believe he has chosen a wrong party. DPT would have been a good platform for him to represent upper Kheng.

Anyways, he will win the first election from this constituency. but I am quite not sure whether DPD will form the government.

Good Luck
