Guffy: Gentle Giant
At the age of 3 months, Guffy came to his forever home in the summer of 1997..  It wasn't long until he outgrew that moniker and became "Big Bubba" not only in name, but in size and personality.  Upon reaching adulthood, he quickly assumed the "big brother" role, even with his older "sibling" Kismet, by being a source of comfort when others were ill, a "toy" for kittens to play and curl up with and a constant companion to all.  Then in June of 2004, Guffy was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism at the age of 7 - a condition more commonly seen in older felines.  My husband and I didn't hestitate in providing him with the best care possible.   Once he was regulated on oral Tapazole, we elected to have I-131 radiation therapy done in order to correct his over-active thyroid gland and to give him the best chance at a full, problem-free life.  Since then, he has fully recovered and is enjoying life to it's fullest.
