Oliver's story: Oliver came to me after I lost my first Jack Russell to Cushing's disease.� I was devastated, and my daughter told me I had better get another dog.� I was very fortunate to find Oliver.� The breeder had many puppies, but Oliver kept coming to me and seemed to like being held, so we went home together.��Now my life revolves around this loving, loyal, intelligent little character.� Since I am retired, we spend most of our time together.
Oliver is very typical of his breed.� He is very active, friendly, and full of mischief.� He always knows where he is going, and that it is important he get there quickly. He loves anybody who will stop and visit with him and sometimes he goes to a nursing home and cheers up some of the residents.� Some of the neighborhood children knock on our door to ask if Oliver can come out and play.
Although Jack Russell Terriers are primarily bred for hunting,�they�can make excellent companions,�but require a good sized fenced in yard.��Generally they do not get along with other dogs. Like most dogs, they will chase squirrels and birds, and occasionally may catch one.
