CHESS GAME

Scientists assume that chess came from India. The oldest form of chess was known as Chaturanga, played in or before the 7th century after Christ. The current chess version is very different from Chaturanga and has many different names. Many people just simply call it chess, some people call it orthochess, and others call it FIDE-chess. Chinese call it Western Xiangqi, and many Japanese call it Western Shogi.
The game is played on an uncheckered board of eight by eight squares. There are 16 white figures (king-1, counsellor-1, rook-2, knight-2, elephant-2, pawns-8) and 16 black figures (king-1, counsellor-1, rook-2, knight-2, elephant-2, pawns-8).
