Anyway, basically Anime is the japanese form of animation, commonly associated with "big eyes and speed lines". The basis of the word "anime" is the french word for animation, borrowed by the Japanese. Anime itself is actually quite unpredictable. One series can be almost horribly obsene, while the next will be inhumanly cute. As before mentioned, most people think Japanese cartoons, and therefore are trapped in the state of mind that anime is only for little children. In reality, anime can appeal to a wide variety of viewers. While younger viewers may watch for the cute things and humor, older viewers may watch for the intricate plotlines, and small things that youngsters would not nescesarilly understand.
Anime is slowly becoming a "rave". It has so much more than the cartoons you may see in North America. Without showing favor to any form of animation, I can still point out that anime has a wide variety of emotional storylines, intricate plots, wide selections of styles and topics, as well as beautiful artwork. Everyone is free to make up their own minds about anime, or course, but I'd have to say that it is just about the greatest. ^-^
