House Loki is a collection of people from many different reenactment groups, as some of us also play in the 1812, WW2, Revolutionary War, SCA, ECS and Civil War groups. We camp together and go to events, in both the recreation groups, and in our daily life. We hold regular meetings and sometimes just parties. We have our internal charter explaining how the house works.
The House is guided by our Elders They are not rulers, but serve as guides to ensure the wishes of the house in general are followed by every one, and to deal with any conflicts that may arrise. We also try to help each other in our various projects, and activities of the newer members, as well as the more experianced, we have all built this group together.
We are happy to have you visit us here. We like meeting new people and seeing old friends, as well. We are a playful bunch-- always active re-creating things from the past and finding ways to have fun.
We all play in the era commonly known as the Medieval Period history, which ran from 600 CE through 1600 CE. These were the glorious times of Chivalry and Honor, and Knights in Armor.
We hold regular events, meetings, training sessions and work shops, some of which are listed in our Calendar We hold these events in cities all over Indiana. We also attend SCA and ECS Regional and National Events held in other parts of the United States.
Our members have chosen to bond together as a group, commonly know as a Household. Some Households are formed through common interests, such as a specific Art or Science, while others are created through the common bond of friendship.
Because we all tend to look the same when in amror, we have our personal and Household Arms, also called Devices. These are the flags, banners, and badges used to identify the various people, groups and the associations we have with each other.
We also publish our own almost quarterly News Letter This publication includes the Minutes of the general House Meetings, Highlights of our Business Meetings and Officers Reports.
A Calendar of Events provides information about upcoming meetings and events. We post it online for easy reading by every one, though a printed copy will be available at events for those that want one. You may also send the Chronicler a SASE to receive a printed version at your home.
