Our guide to decent Japanese aural sounding continues. This time around crazy rockstars that play flutes, a Bjork sound a like and a band with only one song!
Shina RingoShina Ringo is a guitarist\pianist who was compared to the likes of Alanis Morrisette when her debut album 'MUZAI MORATORIUM' was released in the first quarter of 1999. Since then her musical experimentation and quality has improved and broadened, now people compare her to Bjork and Tori Amos. She has famously worked with Hikaru Utada on a couple of tracks and has also appeared on UK television curtosuy of the Sci Fi channels now defunct

The Yellow MonkeyThe YeLLow Monkey have an interesting Pillows-esque quality about them. Adopting musical styles and fashion from all over the world, they give a striking image to the critics and fans in Japan. The band has worked on various TV shows over the years. They also did the first ending theme for Rorouri Kenshin. Fans of bands such as REM should check The YeLLow Monkey out. For more information visit; This page. |

BabamaniaAlright, so maybe Babamania have more than one song, they have three or four albums in fact. However may I say that in our defense they've ever released one single this side of anywhere and that's the fantastic "Wanna Rock" which most recently featured on Electronic Arts FIFA 2004 soundtrack. Check them out if you like groups like Juniour Senior and Fat Boy Slim. Fun stuff. For more see; Babamania's Official Webpage |
