Stairway to Heaven By: Kyoryoku Nazo *********************** ~content warning~ !LEMON! *********************** Part 1 *light accoustic opening* Leaves crumpled underneathe Heero Yuy's feet as he walked through the secluded forest chosen by his fellow pilots. With his Gundam in ruins, he hardly saw the reason the carry out the self-destruct mission the rest of them were taking part in at the moment. *the measure repeats with a flute accompaniment* :I might as well get around the carrying out the second half.: His inner voice was just as stoic and icy as his verbalizations. Drawing his gun from the side of his pants, he raised it slowly and set it firmly to the side of his head. *the guitar and flute continue with a new twist on the melody* The afternoon sun beamed down into his eyes. In in instant, the hand holding the gun moved over to shield them from the overpowering glare. Heero almost smiled at the beautiful aura the goldened leaved brought out when lit. Immediatly though, his expression returned to it's usual frozen, featureless mask. *going for a final instrumental measure, both instruments raise in pitch before softening* :I will not be distracted. I will carry out my orders. The war is over and therfor all dangerous weapons must be destroyed.: Cocking the gun and raising it back to his head and with a tear in his eyes, Heero Yuy, the Perfect Solider carried out his final orders. "Mission accepted." *a loud shot rings out, cutting off the music for a split second before the lyrics come in* /There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold/ Looking up, Heero saw a beautiful figured standing over him. The angel's hair reached down past it's knees and flowed in the wind like liquid gold. It was as if music could be turned into something tangible and was flowing around a creature more breathtaking than anything he'd ever seen. :Am I....dead? I must be...I shot myself...: However, before he could say a word, the angel spoke. /And she's buying a stairway to heaven/ "Heero Yuy is dead." The voice sounded so familiar, but his ears were ringing so hard, he couldn't have made it out to save his very soul. So instead, he let the beautiful creature go on. "The Gundams are no longer needed, and therfor the Perfect Solider was ordered to take his own life. Are you dead, Heero Yuy?" /When she gets there she knows if the stores are all closed/ He gasped in utter shock. All his life he had been trained and worked for one purpose. Kill the enemy. Well, the enemy was gone now. His purpose was over. All doors to him had been shut off. Who would ever take pity on the most wanted criminal on the planet? What now? And then, there was a new problem as well. Never in his life had he considered the seriousness of religious teachings. But was this the afterlife? What would he do if he was now to be punished for he actions during his short existance. Helplessly, he gazed up into the sparkling eyes of the angel in front of him. /With a word she can get what she came for/ "Well?" That was all the creature said. Apparently, it wasn't interested in what the boy thought of the situation; it expected to be answered. Somehow, Heero managed to blink several times and take in his surroundings. Patterns of amber and gold quilted the forest floor, streching up against the sky and beaming back down in an endless cycle of colors. It looked like he was still in the forest, but as beautiful as it was, it very well could have been heaven. /Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven/ There was a loud ringing in his ears and his head hurt tremendously. Flexing his hands ever so slightly, he could feel that the gun was still in his right hand. :I feel like shit....I guess I really am dead.: Painfully slowly, he lifted his aching head to see the breath-taking figure who was still waiting for an answer. It was dressed in a plain white cloth which draped around it's waist and didn't even seem to be tied anywhere. The golden hair that melted onto the curves of it's body hung around the majority of it's chest making it was hard to make out any details. /There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure/ Looking up further and ignoring the protests his eyes gave him, he saw a golden cross dangeling around it's neck. :It must be an angel. I must be dead. It makes sense. I completed my mission and whatever God has planned for me will complete my destiny.: With an effort greater than he could have ever imagined, Heero somehow managed to roll onto his back. Opening his eyes once more, his gaze met that of the angel's. It was as if all the stars in the universe were residing in those beautiful eyes. :Almost reminds me of....: But he cut his thought short. :I'm dead. That doesn't matter now.: /'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings/ "I'll ask you again," spoke the angel, it's voice becoming more clear as the ringing in his head started to die down, "Is Heero Yuy dead?" As with everything in his life, Heero had accepted the overwhelming evidence presented before him. He was about to answer yes, that he was indeed quite dead, but stopped in mid thought. :That wasn't the same question. That wasn't the same question at all.: His thoughts were starting to focus and his wits were returning. Sitting up slowly, Heero turned to face the angel, however still not able to fully meet it's gaze. Scents of the forest overpowered him. Everything around him was dripping with life. With more sense than before, he re-evaluated the situation. "Yes," he said, his voice no longer cold and crude, "Heero Yuy is quite dead. I however, am very much alive." /In a tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings/ The angel smiled and turned around swiftly, starting to dash away. "Wait!" Heero called out. The angel didn't stop and ran towards a small stream that could be only heard and not seen from where he was still sitting. Staggering to his feet, he started to chase after it. The figure of the creature could still be seen scampering through the trees, almost like a spirit of the forest itself. Birds were chirping all around him as the gorgeous afternoon sun warmed his back. He felt so truly alive as he chased the angel, pushing all thoughts of death from his mind. /Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven/ "Please! Wait!" he shouted, trying to catch up with the sleek and lovely figure who was becoming more and more out of sight. Running blindly now, Heero chased the sound of the stream in the distance. Normally, this was no problem to him, but for some reason, his breath was coming shorter and shorter the further he ran. Then all of a sudden, when he was sure that his body couldn't take anymore strain, the trees parted to a tiny clearing where the brook resided. At the far end was a small waterfall whose stream ran back into the forest at the other side of the glade. As his eyes panned around the clearing, they set on his angel who was sitting on a large rock on the other side of the stream. Clearly, the sun existed for the sole purpose of shining on that perfect form. The afternoon blaze accented it's hair with a radiance as it flowed down the side of the rock facing Heero. Unable to see it's face still, he slowly ventured foward until he reached his edge of the stream. "Why have you come for me, angel?" "Angel?" /Ooh, it makes me wonder/ The creature turned around slowly and met Heero's glance clear as crystal. When it answered him with a question of it's own, the voice became unmistakable. However, Heero's angel was not quick to change the subject, ignoring the title the pilot gave him. "Heero Yuy is dead now," the creature continued. Eyes of amethyst finer than any jeweler could facet pierced his soul. Tears clouded Heero's throat, causing him to stagger back. "As soon as you fired that gun, the Heero Yuy who fought for the colonies died. Now, you are alive. The soul of the Perfect Solider can finally breathe. However, you will always be Heero to me." /Ooh, it makes me wonder/ Whatever divine powers had prevented the bullet from ending Heero's existance obviously had sent the angel before him as a messenger. "Thank you, angel," spoke the ex-solider with surprising kindness. This time however, the messenger would not ignore what Heero addressed him by. "I fear that those who knew me like you do would not call me an angel," it spoke with a hint of remorse in it's voice, "Most likely the opposite, in fact. After all, that is the name I have chosen for war. Besides," said the creature, meeting his glance once more, "I thought you were supposed to be the angel, not me." Tears freely streamed Heero's face when his angel looked back into his eyes. "But how?" asked Heero in pained confusion. "I fired that gun. I pulled the trigger myself. Why am I alive?" "Did you really think I'd let you kill yourself?" /There's a feeling I get when I look to the west/ Heero couldn't answer him. How could he? A slight wind picked up and caused the angel's hair to cascade around it's body in a musical formation. Innocent eyes looked into his and drew out everything that the creature could ever want to know. Finally, unable to bear the horrible silence anymore, the former Gundam pilot spoke. "You are my angel. If you hadn't been there, I would have reloaded and shot myself." The angel smiled. It's body was fully visible in the afternoon sun since the cloth around it's waist had been shed in it's run to the brook. He looked into the setting sun and smiled, a true smile for the first time in many years. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" he asked the angel who was also gazing at the beautiful glow. /And my spirit is crying for leaving/ "I'm glad that you can finally appreciate life, Heero. After all the years I've watched you, you'd never shown respect for it's beauty." The spell that the view had cast over him could not have been broken for all he was worth. Again the wind picked up and sent leaves flying gracefully around himself and his angel, paying worship to the sun. Of course Heero had never wanted to die back there. But his reflexes were stronger than his instincts. Without so much as a second thought, he had put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. He never even thought to question the most drastic orders any solider could be given. Turning around from his angel for a brief moment, the former pilot walked back the way he had come and picked up the gun that he dropped as soon as he passed into the clearing. The cold metal in his hand was a drastic change from the warm sun that bathed his legs and back. The whole enigmatic situation of the past few mintutes were still a complete blur, but something in his soul was screaming for an answer. Something was missing. Some detail didn't fit. /In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees/ Heero's thoughts flashed back to that morning when he had loaded the single bullet into his gun. The bullet that would end his life. That would destroy the dangerous weapon known as Heero Yuy. He'd sat on his bed and gazed out the window to the forest chosen by the other pilots. It had been years since he'd thought about his final mission. There was always the hopeful voice in the back of his mind that convinced him that the war would last for decades to come. That he would be needed. :Needed: The word rang in his mind. But nothing could come of whistful thinking. So with a heavy heart he'd dug through his small bag and pulled out the gundanium plated box near the bottom. He opened it like it hurt his hand and ever so slowly removed the gundanium bullet. resting on the silken pillow. Dr J's little parting gift. /And the voices of those who stand looking/ Murmurs of the other pilots were heard from the hallway so he quickly hid the platinum-white bead of death under his pillow. "Heero! Come on out Heero!" "J-just a minute..," he studdered back at them. Moving the pillow off his hand, he held the bullet in front of his face and studied it's surface. The metal was of a flawless perfection, without so much as a scratch after years of being towed around in his duffel bag. Engraved on the side in caligraphy was his name. 'Heero Yuy'. It was hard to belive that that little rounded cylinder would soon be impaled within him and cease his life. So with a fluid movement, the Perfect Solider slid the bullet into his gun, and ran on the catch up with the others. His thoughts were halted when the angel coughed slightly, causing Heero's eyes to jerk upwards on that beautiful body once more. /Ooh, it makes me wonder/ With a click, Heero pushed the cylinder away from the rest of the gun, wanting to see the empty shell of the bullet that was supposed to kill him. However, when he reached for the gundanium remains of what he had placed into the gun that morning, all he found was the plastic shell of a blank. Jumping with a start, he turned around in circles several times, his headache returning ten-fold. Raising his head in a slow and painful motion, he was met with his angel's gaze. Eternal kindness radiated from those endless star-studded eyes. The look he shot the creature was full of fury and confusion. "Why?!" he eventually gasped out. /Ooh, it really makes me wonder/ When the angel didn't answer, Heero filled with rage. "Kisama! I was supposed to die! You had not right-" "No right?" his angel finally responded, cutting Heero off mid-sentence. "I told you. I was not about to let you die." And with that, the creature turned back to the sunset and let the sun bathe it's hair in a golden glow. Once again, Heero let himself smile. He couldn't help it. Something about the angel's eyes gave him hope. Perhaps he wasn't destined to die today after all. A soft pop was heard as his hand clenched around the plastic cylinder in his fist. Without a second thought, he threw the gun to the ground and stepped foward to meet his angel on the rock. /And it's whispered that soon/ After he reached the edge of the stream, he kicked his shoes off and made his way through the shallow waters. The harsh chill almost caused him to leap back to land, but he continued anyway. The way the forest glowed throughout the sunset changed the way Heero looked at the world around him. He relished in the cool water flowing around his ankles and was absolutly mezmorized by the shining rocks protruding from beneath the stream's surface. Then without warning, Heero could feel soft hands reaching up the front of his shirt. All the air escaped from his lungs as the shirt was pulled slowly over his head and tossed somewhere behind him. Silken flesh was pressed against his back as well as the stinging cold metal which was constantly fading as the heat rose within him. The hands were pulling him back now and he was sure there would be a little imprint of a cross in his back for quite a while. "We don't have to run anymore," the voice was soft and low in his ear, causing Heero to shiver and struggle against the strong arms wrapped around him. /If we all call the tune/ Ever so slowly, Heero opened his eyes to see the rock where his angel had been sitting was now standing alone in the golden light. The hands that had been callused by war but softened by love caressed over his chest, sending delicious little chills throughout his body. No longer the Perfect Solider, Heero gave in to his emotions for the first time in his life. He moaned as the angel's hands traced over his body, leaning his head back onto it's shoulder and breathing in the intoxicating scent of it's hair. The sound of his angel sighs were like a symphony, a masterpiece of various tones echoing in his ears. :Nothing is better than this. I've...I've never felt so alive!: But as if Fate could hear his thoughts and wanted to toy with him, the angel let go it's grip and crossed back over the stream. /Then the piper will lead us to reason/ Heero almost fell backwards once his support was gone and staggered to his feet. In the distance he could see the dancing locks of his angel's hair, taking off immediatly to follow them. He knew he needed whatever the beautiful creature planned on giving to him. Memories flashed back to before the final time the scientists had brainwashed him. The joy he felt from the warmth of the sun itself. The reasoning of life, and the logic in following his angel through the woods to what he knew would have been forbidon to Heero Yuy. All of this meshed into his brain as he chased the angel. /And a new day will dawn for those who stand long/ The final beams of sunlight faded beyond the distant trees, causing Heero to have to stop and let his eyes adjust. He found himself in another little clearing, smaller than the last and minus the stream. His running was halted briskly and he stood panting, searching the small ring of trees for his angel. As before, nothing could be seen. He turned around to look behind him, making sure that he had not gone the wrong way. But when he faced back foward, the angel was standing clearly in front of him, smiling broadly. /And the forests will echo with laughter/ Heero stared deep into those amethyst eyes, his own becoming frozen. Yet, no longer frozen from a blank expression and a cold heart, but from fear. Fear of not knowing what to do next. No words were spoken between them in those precious moments as the moon rose above the forest, bathing the angel in a silver aura. His heart stopped for a split second as his angel leaned foward and clasped his head in it's soft hands, closing it's eyes and brushing it's lips against his in a delicate kiss. Once the beating of his heart caught up to him, his angel was leading him across the grass to a patch of flowers. Still entangled in the kiss, which was now growing deeper by the minute, Heero found himself gasping for air, not able to keep his passion in check. Both of them were now tumbling into the bed of flowers, laughing like children who knew no better. *instrumental measure of two guitars, one accoustic and one electric* Alive! Heero was alive! He was now pinned on his back, his wrists being held over his head by the hands of his angel who was leaning over top if him. The golden hair draped over them like a silken waterfall. As the angel leaned down to kiss him, the cold metal of the cross brushed against Heero's chest, sending shivers throughout his body. *the measure repeats with vocal 'ohs'* By will of it's own, Heero's back arched into the touch of the angel's fingers stroking down his chest, stopping to lightly tease his nipples. His eyes rolled back into his head as these new sensations filled his body, sending him reeling past all his broken boundaries. Never again, would he ever deny himself of his human instincts. Never would he deny himself of his angel. *a final measure with the entrance of the percussion before the lyrics continue* The angel continued the gentle caresses on his upper body, finding all those little places that brought upon pleasures surpassing anything Heero had ever felt. The former pilot writhed as his angel traced a line along the crook of his neck, verbalizing his pleasure in an inaudible gasp. /If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, Don't be alarmed now/ The forest around them seemed to be teeming with life. The slightest rustle of leaves or flutter of wings causing Heero to jerk his head for fear they were being watched. But as his angel lowered it's mouth to where it's hands had been, all thoughts of that vanished from his mind without a second thought. Gentle lips trailed along his neckline, stopping every so often to plant a kiss. Every nerve on Heero's body tingled as his angel moved lower on his chest, elicting a primal growl from the back of his throat when those soft lips closed around his nipple. /It's just a spring clean for the May queen/ Beams of moonlight shown down on the two lovers, painting a more beautiful picture than any artist could. Heero slowly reached his hands around and ran his fingers through the long hair of the angel above him. "So beautiful," he breathed out. His angel looked up and smiled. However, not the usual comic grin that was it's trademark. But rather, a smile in which his eyes narrowed ever so slightly, showing the lust behind them. Just the sight of those spheres of violet fire looking at him in that way caused Heero to moan loudly, leaning his head back and arching his chest up into the waiting mouth of his angel.
