| The Cast Kyoryoku - 18 year old undergrad with dreams of directing film. She's visited by an Oracle each night for four years until she is greated by a sage from the past, Firefrost. He takes her back to the golden age of magic and an ancient city by the name of Xomentrez. Their leader, the Great Mage Stormwind, teaches her and trains her to fight the forces of the Shimahou under her protective animal spirit, the hawk.. With a strong sense of empathic feeling, under the guise of Featherfire, she journey's back and forth through time frames during a period known as 'The Valley' - the five years before the predestined Second Great War, Ragnarok in the Year of Destiny, 2007. Hisui - 16 year old high school student, artistic fanatic, and friend of Kyoryoku's who is destined to fight by her friend as part of an ancient circle of power called a Fyve. Blessed with the power to heal people's minds, she takes on the alias of Windflower and joins Kyoryoku in the past with the powers of the tiger at her disposal. Saisana - 19 year old musical prodigy and guardian of the dragon, with the ability to see great distances across thousands of miles with her mind. Under the use-name Silverdoe and the oldest female of the Fyve, bonded to the Japanese rock idol Xaa. Gavyn - 20 year old 'starving artist', lifebond of Kyoryoku, and oldest member of the Fyve. He's blessed with the power of musical projection, the ability to make your audience feel the emotions you're conveying with your song. He fights under the protection of the owl under the use-name Shadowdancer. Gale - 17 year old polymorph from Ireland who poses as a human and fights under the panther with the powers of telekinesis at his disposal. His tell-tale ears and tail are usually well hidden beneath a guise, but Hisui doesn't seem to mind..... Xaa- 19 year old Japanese rock star, astrotraveler, and guardian of the serpent. Lead vocalist of the visual rock group Majesty, he finds himself fascinated with the fanatics of the Shimahou and uses them for artistic inspiration, until he's captured by their forces, unintentionally discovering why the Shimahou are so opposed to the Fyve in the first place. Stormwind - The Great Mage of Xomentrez; savior, founder and leader. She wields a magical blade by the name of Demonsblade which she gives to Kyoryoku on their first meeting for some odd reason. With wisdom behind her years and several obvious hidden agendas, she proves a vital key in the mystery of the Fyve's time paradox. Firefrost - Stormwind's chief advisor and the Fyve's trainer. Forced into his position at the young age of 23, he acts with tact and intuition, making his love affair with the Lady Stellarblade all that more of a shock. Nightjewel - A highborn Lady of Xomentrez with no magical ability, making her all the more bitter when her daughter, Ambersteel, blooms with powers that could rival Stormwind. Ambersteel - A young magical apprentice who is nothing that she appears to be. Switched at birth with Nightjewel's true daughter, the Lady Stellarblade, she proves to truley bear the name Amberfawn, the last surviving member of the Great House of the Stag. Stellarblade - Nightjewel's true daughter, with no magical abilities of her own. She jeopardizes Firefrost's position as an advisor when the rumors arise that he had an affair with her. Hecate - An old woman, one of the last survivors of the ancient race, the Danski, who bore human and bird-like features. Although she's over 600 years old, her magic is still strong enough to protect the last remaining Centaurs from the arcane experiments of the Shimahou. Rhodesia - The High Priest of the Shimahou, holding a bitter grudge against the city/country of Xomentrez, as he is despretly in love with Stormwind. Saito - Rhodesia's second in command, the true force behind the Shimahou. A religious fanatic, believing that every human was predestined to carry the spirit of either a Phoenix or a Dragon and that they would be the fighting force in the predestined battle of Ragnarok. He starts to gather refugees and outcasts who he believes carry the Phoenix with them. He calls these 'children' of his sketches, and when Mordena enters his camps, he proclaims her his 'masterpiece'. Mordena - A true powermonger, she uses Saito's obsession with her to gain extreme power within the Phoenix camps and the Shimahou council in general. She's even able to allow the young woman named Vallah to enter the camps even though the girl radiates Dragon energies. For Mordena is vainly in love with her. Vallah - The wild card in the battle of Ragnarok, she's blind out of one eye and covered in viscious scars. She's also hopelessly in love with Saito, completing the triangle of bitter love. When she invokes her Spirit for battle, her wings are white like those fighting for the Dragon, but a feathery texture of the Phoenix. Lithe - The leader of the Centaurs who Hecate protects and the first victim of the Shimahou's magical experiments. She fights alongside the Fyve in Ragnarok even though she carries neither of the opposing Spirits. Hidden Diamond - A mysterious veiled man who visits Kyoryoku in her dreams once the burden of leading the Fyve and being the Champion of Earth (and passing her midterms) proves to be too much to handle. As time goes on though, she suspects that he is truely a conscious being from another dimension and not just a figure of her imagination and fantasies. The Arcs First Arc - The Mage Kyoryoku has been visited by the Oracle since the age of 14 and now, at 18, she is finally greeted by the sage Firefrost in person. She travels back in time exactly one-thousand six-hundred and thirty-nine years to train with the Great Mage Stormwind in the city of Xomentrez. She is warned of the religious fanatics, the Shimahou, and unintentionally becomes involved in a courtly scandal between the Lady Nightjewel's true daughter, Stellarblade and Firefrost. Second Arc - Empathy Training under her strongest gift - sensing and controling the emotions of others - she joins the rest of the fighting force destined to lead Ragnarok, an ancient detail called a 'Fyve'. Searching the world for the chosen warriors - Hisui, Saisana, Gavyn, Gale and Xaa - they all trek back and forth from past to present learning how to use their magical talents while still not truely understanding why they have been chosen to fight and why there's fighting in the first place. Under all the stresses piling on her, she developes an unconscious retreat in the form of the dream-figure, a man named Hidden Diamond. |
