| Character: Nephrite Series: Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon Style: series Debut: February 2003 Cons: Katsucon 9 Cost: about $50 Comments: Even though I made this cosutme strictly for DM's Katsucon skit, and will probably never wear it again, I'm still pretty happy with the way it turned out. Using an existing men's dress shirt, I altered it by sewing a grey panel over the front, turning up and cutting the coller and making some nifty little shoulder things out of Foamie, I think I pulled it off pretty well considering it only took about a day to make. Character Info: Nephrite appears in the first season of Sailormoon as a villian, as one of the shitennou (four kings of the sky) in the service of Queen Beryl. The shitennou are commonly referred to as the 'generals', although their actual rank holds them as kings in their own right. Back in the days of Silver Millienium when Endymion ruled the Gold Kingdom, the shitennou were his head advisors before corrupted by the Dark Kingdom. After Beryl is defeated at the end of the first arc, the shitennou dissapear as far as the series is concerned, but in the manga, they continue to make cameos and advise Endymion when he's in need. Nephrite is the King of Stars, and possesses powers related to dowsing and foresight. When serving the Dark Kingdom, his powers revolve around shadows, with the ability to project a shadow of himself which he uses against the senshi. |
