| Character: Alexiel Series: Angel Sanctuary Style: manga artbook version Debut: August 2003 Cons: Otakon 2003 Cost: almost $100 Comments: When it came time to decide the series for the Otakon 2003 Dark Muffins skit, we took a vote. Everyone picked three series they would like to see done and everyone included Angel Sanctuary in their list. It was our first skit and holds a special place for us. I already had part of the costume left over from Otakon 2001. I had to patch up the wings and the corset, I needed a new headband, gloves and skirt, and I wore different boots than last time, in hopes that they wouldn't pull the corset so tight. The corset had to be almost completly remade, needing new shoulder and bust straps, as well as the strap leading down to the high left boot. The skirt was made from scratch, and actually from leftover Sailormoon fabric. The rings for the corset were remade, this time from bent coat-hanger as opposed to nickle-wire, which is what I used last time. I like the copper color of the coat-hanger better anyway, as well as the halter. Last time I used beads for the choker, but this time I cut rings out of the vinyl used for the straps, which I think looks a lot more like the manga picture. All in all, I'm proud of it ^_^. Character Info: God's first creation, Adam, the six-winged angel, created two three-winged angels: Alexiel, the Organic Angel, and Rosiel, the Inorganic Angel. Alexiel was beautiful and was God's favorite. In a jealous rage, her brother Rosiel ripped her skin from her body and wore it himself to become beautiful as well. Rosiel won God's favor and angered Alexiel. She led a rebellion on Heaven and was defeated, her punishment being to be re-incarnated over and over, each life-time containing a tragic love story and a painful death. Rosiel soon choses to start a conflict of his own, and attempts to re-awaken Alexiel from her current incarnation, a teenaged boy named Setsuna. Very, very strange. |
