HOTSPUR ENTERS THE BATTLE
At this point Hotspur and his close ally the Earl of Douglas and there best men advanced into the melee intent on killing King Henry They chopped there way forward felling man after man, and on 2 occasions thought they had slain the king only to find King Henry had clothed his personal knights in similar garb to his own.

Despite good effort and close calls the greater numbers of the Royal forces began to tell and the front line of routing troops were rallied by the kings own men at arms.

On the right of Hotspurs forces Prince Henry was making headway and began to outflank Hotspurs forces.

In a momentary lull around him Hotspur lifted his visor for a gasp of air and was hit in the face by an enemy arrow. The cry went up of his death and without there inspirational leader the rebels ran from the field. In the rout that followed 3000 of Hotspurs men where slain.
