An orphaned poor little girl had a piece of bread and walked all alone in the woods.
In the woods, she met poor children one after another.
When the girl met the first child, she gave her the bread.
To the next child she met, she gave the cap she was wearing.
To the next child, she gave the dress she was wearing.
In the end, she even gave her underwear away.
Now naked, the little girl kept walking thru the woods.
Spreading before her was a low hill.
Standing on that hill, she looked up at a sky full of stars.
Then, all of a sudden, those twinkling stars came clinking down.
They had turned into golden coins.
And the little girl lived happily ever after. |

|
The story begins...Aya Kuramoto, a deaf nurse working in a small village clinic in Hokkaido, falls in love with one of the doctors, Shuichi Nagai. He tells her a story about how one day, the stars will fall upon her and she will find true happiness...He promises to marry her once he returns from a business trip to Tokyo, but he never returns. At the airport, a woman in a hurry trips over Shuichi on the escalator and they both tumble down to the bottom, with Shuichi breaking her fall. He develops amnesia and loses all of his memories of Aya. Aya goes to Tokyo in search of Shuichi, but his younger brother Takumi finds her instead and begins to fall in love with her. To make matters more complicated, the woman who causes Shuichi's accident tries to help his recovery in rehabilitation and sparks begin to fly...whatever happened to true love? Thus begins a tale of romance, jealousy, revenge, and sacrifice....When will the stars ever fall upon her? |
