Animal Life The Island is home of very peculiar but widely ranged creatures. Some of these creatures will sound familiar to you.. some won't. Please feel free to read through the below list of animals. (to be edited later on) Beakbird - This bird is quite large, being as tall as one of our elves, sometimes even taller. This bird's strenght lies as his name conceils in it's beak. It has a large and strong beak with which it could easily snap the lower leg of an elf in two. The bird can fly but it isn't it's strenght, prefering to go from higher ground soaring to lower ground. As long as the beak is avoided this creature is good prey for our elves, not being very quick on foot and having trouble getting of the ground. When having attacked though an elf is usually quite hurt. If hunting this creature never hunt alone, but go with a group. Territory - Ilomeru's Realm Featherclaw - Another birdlike creature, this bird though can't fly. The strenght of this bird is obviously it's claws, wich are as long as an elfs lower arm, and strong as a bear's jaws. This bird can outrun an elf with ease being longer then them and having long ‘legs'. Males are mostly very colourfull using it as a scaring mechanism for smaller creatures. Good thing is that these birds don't feed often. When having fed they usually go at least an eight of days without food. Territory - Ilomeru's Realm Blackbird – Large Raven-like birds. They're pretty much scavangers. Theyre strong and able to lift a single elf off the ground with only slight effort. It's not a bird of the attacking kind, not able to rely on strenght like Beakbirds or Featherclaw's are able to but are able to fly great lenthgs. Territory - Mountain of Ocediu Ringeyes - This is a panda-like creatures, quite large but with a very gentle nature. The bear has white rings around the eyes, hence the name. Being vegetarians Ringeyes pocess over very strong teeth, untill recently many elves didn't dare come to close to them because of their strong roaring voice and there strong, frightening teeth. Recently though these ‘bears' have been a great help for the tribe. The animals are strong and easy to get to give help, with their large strong body's the Ringeyes provide a great way to carry water when waterruns are held every so often. Territory - Ilomeru's Realm Snitters - These small green amfibian creatures are quite annoying. These ones don't get larger then an elf's hand while their larger ‘brothers' (Wagtails) can easily grow up to 4 feet long from head to tails. The Snitters are quite the mean things, they have a very strange way of hunting. One of them finds a lone animal, sitting next to it, crawling on it, just to find out if it ‘trusts' it. Then as it finds that the ‘prey' trusts it's presence it calls a shrill call, meanwhile still looking all cute and harmless. At that moment it's ‘pack' comes to it and together they crawl on the prey. They hunt with douzens and together with small sharp teeth they eat the prey, still alive. Not a nice enemy.. Territory - Ilomeru's Realm Wagtails - Being the overly large brethren of Snitters you'd think that they would be quite similar, yet this is not the case. Wagtails, as Ringeyes are quite gentle creatures. Though they aren't vegetarians they are slow and lazy. And don't like to work too much for their food. Often they'll be laying in a bush wich is the same colour as their skin with their mouths open waiting for something to fly or crawl in. Stupidly enough, there actually are animals who do. These Wagtails won't attack an elf, not for it's life. They are named wagtails because when they walk their long tails wags from one side to the other. From top to tail they grow up to 4 feet , but from ground to back they only grow about 1 feet or so, about kneeheight. Territory - Ilomeru's Realm |
