As you walk in the portal to the dragon, it doesn't seem very hot as you thought it would be being around a volcano. In fact there is a sea kind of smell. You finally stop because, there before you is a sea of fire. You feel stupid because you say it can't be possible, but there infront of you eyes, a Sea of Fire. It looks like regular fire but as you step closer you don't feel any heat. You are at the edge of the strange sea. You slowly and cautiosly put your fingers down to meet the fire. Then all of a sudden the fire meets YOUR, fingers. You are sucked under the fiery waves. There in the bright light of flames, you can see an egg, a huge egg. You start to swim towards it but it doesn't work. You are soon sucked up back to the surface and on land again. You sit there with head in your hands, wondering if it was all a dream, when the waves part. You look up to see the waves part in a large circle and the egg slowly floating upwards. The fire faerie, Faelayana, suddenly rushes past you into the fires. She magically transports the dragon egg onto the land next to you. Then hovering she comes to you and the egg.
"You have found it!"
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to find it before you."
"It is fine. At least I finally have my dragon companion!" Faelayana smiles at you with a cheerful face and motions for you to come over to the egg. "This human, is a dragon egg. I am pretty sure it will be a fire dragon!" She giggles and goes on. "I hope the dragon will be red though. I don't know how it couldn't be, " with that she looks around and looks back at you,"Well, we better be off. You should explore the realm more, and you can take a look at the offerings that I have given. You may find something interesting." As she said that there was a twinkle in her eye and she motioned for you to go ahead of her. Then you ask.
"What are you going to do now, with the dragon egg?" The faery looks at you and smiles.
"I am going to do what I have wanted to do for many years. I am going to prepare for the dragon egg to hatch. I am going to protect, feed, and play with dragon until full grown. After that it will decide what to do. " |
