| Harpie, Siren and Sphinx Treacheries |
| You walk out of the safety of the main realm, and walk north, towards a cliff that is surrounded by a dark forest. The sky around the forest and cliff is dark and gray. You shiver as a cold breeze blows on you. You look around, but the trees aren't waving in the strong breeze. You feel a little scared and nervous as you walk onto a path that leads to the center of the forest. You shiver again as another cold breeze hits you, but only you, the dead leaves on the grond don't move and the top tree limbs don't waver. You get really worried so you start jogging to the center of the forest. You finally get to the forest clearing and sit down on a hollow log. You look to the ground and see a paper half buried in dirt. You reach down and pick it up. You start reading the paper. |
| Harpies Harpies are creature/monsters that are not really known about. They are very mysterios. Harpy means "snatcher" in Greek. Harpie Characteristics Harpies have the wings, talons, and lower body of an eagle and the head and upper body of a women. They can also have the hooves of a pig or deer, wings like a bat, and lower body of a lioness. Harpie Myths Harpies were said to be beautiful women who tricked people to let them have their food. Harpies are also said to very ugly, and steal peoples food, and blind them. |

| Sphinx The sphinx was an greek monster, sent down to punish Thebes for displeasing her. The creature is described as being tall or short. Sphinx Characteristics The sphinx has the head of a women, body of a lion, tail of a serpent, and wings of an eagle. She was cast down to earth to punish those of Thebes. Sphinx Myths The Greek godess, Hera, queen of all gods, cast down the sphinx to punish the people of Thebes for displeasing her. The Sphinx settled herself down on Mount Picium. |

| Siren Sirens are those beautiful half bird half human creatures. Siren Body The sirens' body is very unusual. It has the lower body of a bird and the upperbody of a women. The face sometimes has a beak instaed of a mouth. Siren Myth The sirens are supposed to have lived on a small island in the middle of the Mediteranean Sea. Any ships passing by the island would be lured in to the jagged rocks along the shore by the sirens' voices. That ship would have an unfortunate end. It is also said that the sirens would go threw the wreckage and find the bodies of the people on board and eat them. Egggghhhhh! |
