Once upon a time, there lived three bears. A big, round-bellied Poppa Bear, a sweet furry faced Momma Bear, and an adorable little cub called Baby Bear. They were all very happy in their little green and blue cottage in the quiet forest greenlands of the Mid-West. But one day, something terrible and unexpected happened. A big, ugly, red dragon came knocking on their door.
"Let me in!" this dragon roared.
Panic stricken, the bears cried in unison, "Oh no! A dragon is here to eat us. What shall we do?!"
"I'm not here to eat you, you silly fools! Give me all your money," he replied.
"Oh! We don't have any," said they, very afraid and, had they been wearing any, quaking in their shoes.
"Hey! Wait a minute," exclaimed Baby Bear, looking thoughtful. All eyes turned the young one expectantly. "What about Goldilocks?"
"What about Goldilocks?" Poppa Bear questioned dubiously.
Momma Bears face lit up excitedly. "Why! Yes! She does have hair of gold! Perfect."
Poppa rubbed his grizzly chin "Oh. Why Uh-huh, indeed, that's perfect!" he agreed.
"Well, don't just stand there, I want gold!" yelled the dragon. "Bring her to me!"
And that, my friends, is what really happened to Goldilocks.
