Diet:     Angel fish are Omnivores. They love to eat small live foods such as Brine Shrimp and Blood Worms.

Tank Size:     Minimum tank size should be a 20 gallon tall for a pair of Angelfish. They are also kept well in groups. Four to Six Angelfish in a 55 gallon would work quite nicely. When choosing a tank you need to get a tall tank.

Tankmates:     Some good tank mates for Angelfish are Loaches, Pleco, Gourami, Bigger Tetras, African Cichlids, and South American Dwarf Cichlids. When picking tankmates make sure to avoid smaller fish like guppy and neon tetra because your Angelfish might eat them. Keep Angelfish in a pair of two or in a group of 4 or more. Also when choosing tankmates avoid fin nippers because Angelfish have big fins. Avoid fast swimmer's (such as Zebra Danio) to becuase they are slower swimmers.

Tank Decoration:     Angelfish like planted tanks and will feel more safe in one. Put the plants on the side and in the back of the tank. You can use someting like drift wood in the middle, but it isn't really needed. Don't put to much in the middle because Angelfish need swimming space there. Make sure to leave enough swimming space. Pick a dark gravel for you tank because the amazon has a muddy bottom, which is where Angelfish come from. Also another thing when setting up your tank is Angelfish like subdued lighting.

Behavior:     Angelfish are peaceful fish when not breeding. They won't bug any other fish in your tank, but they won't get pushed around either. They are good community fish with the tankmates I listed above.

Other Info:     Angelfish are one of the most popular aquarium fish. Angelfish come in many varieties such as Koi, Marble, Striped, and many more. Angelfish need good water quality so make sure to do weekly water changes and have a sufficient filtering. They don't like a fast current so make sure your filter doesn't make a strong current.
