Best Performances Ever:
Jim Carrey, Man on the Moon: Though I don't think this is Jims best movie, ya gotta recognize that his acting here is brilliant. After a while you forget that it's Jim Carrey altogether.
Tea Leoni, The Family Man: My favorite role played by a female, EVER. Tea Leoni kinda becomes everything every guy wants in a wife in this movie. Her performance makes the movie, in fact.
Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Carribean: One of the more entertaining characters in cinema history, Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow single handedly made this movie into a blockbuster hit. Very skilled acting, very eccentric and entertaining.
Gene Wilder, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: All time great. Gene Wilder completely pulls off the semi-psychotic candy man. This is a corner stone performance, almost the Michael Jordan of movie performances. Gene Wilder rocks.
Val Kilmer, Tombstone: In a role that HAD to inspire Johnny Depp in POTC, Val Kilmer surprised me by pulling off a character with so much charisma and magnetism. He plays Doc Holliday, in a role that is completely eccentric, entertaining and skillfull.
Mel Gibson, Lethal Weapon: I think this is my favorite performance ever. Mel plays Martin Riggs, a crazy, suicidal, ridiculously talented cop. This is also probably my favorite movie ever.
Orson Welles, Citizen Kane: Though the above actors are all in fast-paced, entertaining movies, Citizen Kane is more of an art film. But Orson Welles playes Charles Foster Kane through many ages, and pulls them all off. A high level of energy throughout.
Best Movies Ever:
Citizen Kane: Best dramatic movie, in my opinion. Shot extremely well, great script, score, everything. I don't think any movie before or since has come to it's level.
Lethal Weapon: I think it's the best action movie, though are so many great ones. Buddy cop flick. Mel Gibson really makes it fun.
Dumb and Dumber: The funniest comedy of all time. There are others that come close, like "What's Up Doc?", but the comedic relentlessness of this flick is unsurpassed. Every scene has something funny going on.
Funniest comedians of all time: And three movies that showcase them at their best.
7. Jon Belushi: Animal House, Blues Brothers, SNL
6. Jerry Lewis: The Caddy, Scared Stiff, The Stooge
5. Steve Martin: All of Me, The Jerk, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
4. Charlie Chaplin: The Circus, Modern Times, City Lights
3. Buster Keaton: Sherlock Jr., The Navigator, Seven Chances
2. Abbott and Costello: Who Done It, Hold That Ghost, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
1. Jim Carrey: Liar Liar, Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura
