| NOW - National Organization for Women- It fought gender discriminatioon in work places, schools, and justice systems. - Feminism ignited the women's rights movement. Effects in society - Women were obtaining higher positions (i.e. lawyers, doctors, etc.) - By 1963, nearly 1/3 of American workers were women - Even though women worked, they continued to maintain the household. - They achieved somewhat equality, but once married, they would typically leave their occurpation to be a housewive. |
