Zeke is fine. :-) I've stopped training him, so he's gotten a little pushy
and "zippy" lately. He was running around a lot in the field (could be from just
feeling really good), and actually taking the other boys off galavanting at
feeding time, leaving me to have to stand there calling them for five or ten
minutes to come in for dinner! :-) Even though this may have just been a
combination of his feeling really good physically and not being ridden every day,
I was worried it was the Cortaflex. It only took two DROPS of the tranquilizer
when the vet needed Zeke to not move his feet for the x-rays, and the vet said
Friesians are draft-blooded enough to be real sensitive to any type of sedative.
I was afraid, because of that, that there might be something in the Cortaflex that made him frisky, even though it didn't affect my other horses, you know? I'm
just being very cautious and protective of him, which I'm sure you have no
problem with. <VBG> I discontinued the Cortaflex and will watch to see what
happens in the next several days. If he continues to be frisky, but starts going
lame or looking ouchy, I will put him back on it, to keep him comfortable.
I agree with you that we should not be at odds with eachother. As I said
before, I'm terribly sorry that I upset you. I made a mistake by sending you
those emails . . . I thought I was going to "help" you to see my side, and the
future of Zeke from other people's perspectives, but it only made you mad and
defensive. Again, I apologize . . . it was tactless and inappropriate.
I can only afford Zeke if he's priced like a horse whose x-rays show a risky
future. While he's priced like a sound and "clean" horse, I can't consider him as
a horse for me. I love him, but not THAT much. :-) If, in the future, you decide
to take me up on my offer, I'll find a way to pay you cash . . . and I pray that
happens, but that you find peace with it somehow, because I do care about how you
feel, and I can understand your emotions now.
I never sent you a bill, because I didn't know whether or not to put November
on it. The last email you sent said you were investigating other arrangements for
Zeke, and I thought it sounded like Zeke would be moving soon. I will put the
bill, including November's full board only, in the mail today. If you'd like to
mail a check now, which would be good for my checkbook, the total is $695, which
includes the additional $200 for October's training, $139 in vet fees, etc., and
$356 for November's full board and daily wormer.
I will await word from you as to if and when Zeke will be leaving, and you
know I'd love to keep him here, but that's up to you. Let me know if I can help
in any way, such as the offer I made earlier of training and marketing him for no
additional monthly money now, but 20% of his sale price.

Comment:  I was surprised that the vet gave him a sedative for x-rays - Zeke will stand still really well and neither my vet nor the vet who x-rayed him for my buyers gave him a sedative.  She's worried that it's the Cortaflex that is affecting him? Then, perhaps, you should not give him supplements that his owner has not approved. I find it interesting that she states she is cautious and protective of him, yet he ends up standing around with thrush. As for him taking her horses off running when she calls them? That's odd; Zeke always came running the minute I called him; no ifs, ands or buts. He would rather be with his humans than any other horse.
