2004/04/17 Today we went to Kita-Ibaraki to visit a friend who lives there. She has a beautiful Japanese garden where Kylie loved to run around and have fun. Also, we went on a tour of the area with her as our guide! We went to Hanazono Shrine, had a very nice lunch of wild vegetables and trout, toured a temple built above a beautiful valley (see the picture), and a furniture workshop. Beautiful furniture, but EXPENSIVE! Well, you get what you pay for, and that furniture should last a few hundred years... Kylie loved the whole day, and looked sad as we left. After, we just had a relaxing evening at home. Oh, I almost forgot. At Hanazono shrine, Kylie, who has recently learned how to run, was running down a hill. Not a good idea. Her speed went too high, and she wiped out! This time she remembered to put out her hands though, and I thought she would be OK, but that heavy baby head just couldn't resist all the momentum, and she scraped her upper lip on the pavement. Poor Kylie! But the damage was minimal, thank God! And soon she was OK again. But she had a pretty fat lip all day. And a nice little scrape. But man, my heart stopped for a minute there when I couldn't reach her as she tripped. |
