Kylie Minogue
will spend an extended break in Australia with her family to help
recover from
the stress surrounding her break-up with James Gooding.
Minogue is set
to perform two shows, in Sydney and Melbourne in August, but her
management has
confirmed she will spend quality time with her parents, Ron and Carol,
at their home
in Victoria.
"She will take
time out while in Australia to spend time with her family,"
Minogue's manager
Terry Blamey said.
But Mr Blamey
refused to speculate on whether Minogue would be accompanied by Gooding,
the model and
ex-boyfriend who reportedly has been wooing the petite star
since the official
announcement of their split.
He said Minogue
chose to travel to Australia to perform because her home country
is a more important
territory to her than the US - despite fervent interest in her work in
America,
where she reached
the top five in the American Billboard charts.
"Australia always
has been and always will be the most important market for her, regardless
of success in
the US or elsewhere," Mr Blamey said. "Australia is home."
Home that will
provide a haven for Australia's pop princess after a frenzy of interest
in her
love-life by
the British press.
Like many women
recovering from relationship break-ups, Minogue is expected to find comfort
among her family
members - especially her mother, although she is close to both parents.
Minogue has
blamed herself for the high-profile split with Gooding, saying the demands
of her
career placed
enormous pressure on their relationship.
But they have
been spotted together since the break, enjoying get-togethers in London,
and may be attempting
reconciliation, although her management remains coy on the subject.
The singer will
unveil her spectacular Fever tour in Sydney on August 2 and is planning
another show
at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena.
