| Character: Heather Show: "Beyond Belief- Fact or Fiction" Episode: Episode #44, "The Cigar Box" Air Date: August 29, 2002 Screen Time: story length was about 10 min. |
| About Her Character: After Heather buys an old cigar box in a sale for a dollar, the box keeps shaking. At first, she and her mother think nothing of it, assuming an old wind-up toy or other object is in the box. At the diner where the mother worked, Mr. August (a customer there) came in and came up to ask Heather for something, knowing she already had the box. He asked for an item in the box, a Purple Heart, because he had won it fighting in World War 2. After the girl handed him the purple heart, he left the diner. After the mother's shift was done, they were walking on the street when they saw an ambulance. After inquiring, they found out that Mr. August had died, with the Purple Heart in his hand. But, the man in the ambulance said Mr. August must have been dead for at least two days. This story did turn out to be true! |
