Back In Time
A timeline of the Kyle and Tess storyline.
"Crazy" (episode 116) - Tess arrives in Roswell, and makes friends with Isabel.

"Four Square" (episode 118) - Max and Liz see Tess flirting with Kyle at school. Later, Kyle and Tess go to the library for a "study date." Tess retrieves the Pod Squad's book at the library while using Kyle to attract Max and Liz's attention.

"Ask Not" (episode 202) - Tess moves in with the Valentis after Nasedo is killed. Kyle wakes up confused and surprised to find Tess sleeping in a shirt on the couch. She explains that she lives here now. Tess discovers "Biker Chicks" and "Buddha for Beginners" under Kyle's bed. Kyle is freaked by the invasion at first, but later gives up his room, and jersey, for Tess.

"Surprise" (episode 203) - Kyle complains that Tess and her "girlie things" have invaded his bathroom "so she better at least be doing me." He quickly adds, "A favor," as Mrs. Evans walks by.

"The End of the World" (episode 205) - Frustrated and angry over Max, Tess declares she's done with him. Kyle comments that she looks really great when she's pissed and that "in order to trim the lamp of wisdom, we must attend to our bodily needs." Tess replies, "Let me tell you something, Buddha-boy...I got a lamp that needs some serious trimming." The two almost kiss, but are interrupted by a knock at the door: Liz. Tess comments that they'll trim her lamp later, and Kyle says, "Right. I'll keep my equipment on the ready." However, the two never trim any lamps in the episode since Tess becomes closer to Max when Liz stages a fake scene that displays her sleeping with Kyle.

"A Roswell Christmas Carol" (episode 210) - Tess is disappointed in the Valentis lack of enthusiasm for holiday tradition, and thus takes it upon herself to make Christmas dinner, demanding a chair for herself in the process. Tess bakes 3-cheese potato gratin, Kyle's favorite. He's surprised by the thought. Later, Kyle thanks Tess for making his dad happy again by inviting Amy. "That's a really great gift that you gave him...to both of us, I mean," Kyle says. He stars after Tess awed as she carries out the turkey.

"To Serve and Protect" (episode 211) - Kyle finds himself surprisingly liking Tess's Tabasco and waffles, causing him to freak out at the possibility of becoming an alien. Tess plays a prank of him, making him believe he's telekinetically changing the TV channels.

"We Are Family" (episode 212) - When Kyle gets almost caught snooping in the Sheriff's office, Tess mindwarps the officer into thinking Kyle has handed him his report card, not a blank paper. Kyle gets freaked at Tess using her "creepy powers" on him, while Tess believes "a simple thanks for saving my butt would be quite sufficient." Kyle is at angry at Max for putting his family at risk. Tess interprets this to mean she's overstayed her welcome, and packs her stuff. Kyle is surprised to find her leaving, and says, "Tess...don't go," his voice breaking. "You're part of the family I was trying to protect. As far as I can see, you're the only good thing about having an alien in my life." Tess declares Kyle her favorite human, and Kyle tells Tess she's his favorite Martian.

"Viva Las Vegas" (episode 215) - Kyle and Tess barge their way onto Max and Michael's trip to Las Vegas. When the group is having dinner, Kyle asks Tess to dance. She accepts, and they slow dance smiling happily.

"Heart of Mine" (episode 216) - Tess is touched when Kyle asks her to the prom. Kyle can't pin point what exactly is stopping him from pursuing Tess. During a chat with a teammate, who wants a piece of Tess, Kyle blurts out, "Don't you ever talk about my sister like that." Kyle then leads Tess into the eraser room and reveals that he thinks of her as a sister. Tess replies, "You know I'm disappointed, but I understand."

I'm going to end the timeline here because there are no further inclinations towards a Kyle and Tess romance. However, hope never dies, and neither do speculations.
