Simplicity
go back
Someone once told me
that the truest form of poetry
is that which has no form at all
Taking that idea I intend to
pour out my thought
and my feelings to you
Despite what others have said
we made it this far
In fact, despite what others think
we're still together
What other couple could be
completely content
falling asleep in each others arms
or laughing about things
that make absolutely no sense?
I know you hate it
when I pensively stare at you
but I can't help looking
and wondering
why God sent someone
like you
All I can do now is pray
that He keeps you in my life
you've become a big part
of my little world
We may not do
what everyone else does
or think how others think
but they don't know
what they're missing
You're the robot
in my 17th century romance novel
I'm the horse and carriage
in your science-fiction movie
As absurd as that sounds
it works for us
I can't explain
why things are as they are...
I don't think I want to try
All I know is somehow
we found each other
and we're happy
That's all we need to know
For once in my life
it's just that simple
