about me
things that make me smile: being married to Caleb; being a member of Mega Church; reading; writing; jogging; drawing; painting; listening to the rain; eating ice cream; going to Starbucks; cooking (yes, now that I do it); rollerblading (if I can get anyone to go with me), sleeping is nice too
name: Jen or Jennifer (don't call me Jenny--I will get semantic)
status: married and loving it
things that make me gag: fake people; parking lots; alarm clocks; fish; a lot of political stuff that I don't want to get into; people touching my hair; ugly teeth; anything that isn't placed aesthetically; fake people; fake people; fake people
employment: I am currently a Teaching Fellow at Kent State University (which means I get paid to teach and go to grad school for free). It's a sweet deal.
education: I graduated from Indian Valley High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Malone College with a B.A. in Integrated Language Arts (big words that mean I can teach high school English--the operative word being "can"). In May '06, I graduated from The University of Akron with an M.A. in Composition and a certificate in Linguistics. Now I'm dying a slow death as a doctoral student in Literacy, Rhetoric, and Social Practice (yep, that's LRSP or "lersp") at Kent State University. I just want to graduate.
currently: I don't exist. At least not until 2010.
aspirations: I want to see Paris, London, Australia, and a bunch of other places. Someday I'll have kids, but hopefully not until I have a house. I want to finish classes so I can work on my dissertation. I just want to graduate!!! Right now I'm just trying to love the life I have and live in the favor of the Lord.
my beliefs: I attend Mega Church in Cleveland, Ohio--a multicultural church comprised of a black, Latino, and white congregation; I intend to live each day for God and follow His perfect will for my life. I understand and respect that people have differing views, but I know where I stand.
age: 26....*sigh*.
