Beta Chi's History
   On May 3, 1930, Beta-Chi Chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity was installed at the Des Moines College of Pharmacy.  This event followed and rewarded the earnest endeavor of a group of students to bring a chapter of this national organization to the school.
    This group of students was highly honored by the presence of Grand Regent Dr. W. Bruce Philips as the installing officer.  Dr. Philip is associated with the University of California and is nationally known as the foremost man in Pharmacy on the Pacific coast.
    A luncheon was given on the day of installation by the charter members of the chapter.  Carl Weeks, Dr. Chamberlain, Denny Brann, Past President N.A.R.D., J.J.Gillespie, Past President Iowa Pharmaceutical Association, Dr. W. Bruce Philip, Dean E.O.Kagy, and Prof. H.E. Rise were present as guests. 
    The charter members also feel highly honored in having as a member of Beta-Chi Chapter, Denny Brann, honorary member of the Grand Council of Kappa Psi.
