| OUR PASTOR | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Rev. David Coleman and his wife, Sis. Hattie reside in Kennett, Missouri. They have been married for over 30 years and have two children: Merrill age 29 and Charissa, age 28. Bro. Coleman has been a christian for over 30 years and a pastor for over 15. He is currently the pastor of the Gospel Tabernacle Churches in Blytheville, Arkansas and Mayfield, Kentucky. As well as being a wonderful pastor and dynamic preacher, he is a musician and singer. Many times after a church service, you will find Bro. Coleman sitting with his guitar along with the other band members in a Christian "Jam session." "Music is an integral part of worship. Praise God with a shout and a loud trumpet!" says Bro. Coleman with a huge smile. Bro. Coleman spends alot of time on the highways, travelling back and forth between the two churches, not to mention visiting other churches of every denomination. He believes in an open church and an open door and that doctrinal lines and man-made divsions of God's people should be crossed at every threshold in order to promote the mutual fellowship of the Body of Christ. "The bible says we are one church, one family, and one body...we are all God's children and Jesus built His church on love..." quotes Bro. Coleman. Bro. Coleman's tireless efforts and firm dedication to the ministry of God along with his ceaseless energy and concern for God's people make us all feel so blessed that he is our pastor. If you ever come to visit us, you will find a fast friend in Bro. Coleman. His humor and positive personality just make you feel good to be around him. We thank his family, who are just as dedicated workers as he, for all the time we take him away from home, but we know that God will richly bless them for their sacrifice! Bro. Coleman welcomes you to come to one of our services. "We are confident that you will feel a love and peace like |

| you have never known in the Body of Christ. Our door is always open to any and all of God's people. It doesn't matter who you are, or where you came from--rich or poor, black or white...sinner or saint...ALL are welcome here! I would like to encourage people to come and visit us and be our guest....I know they will feel at home, for they will have a heavenly Host...Jesus is the head of this church and Jesus said, 'Whosoever will...Let him come!' | Sis. Hattie Coleman has been a source of inspiration for all of the people of our churches and those elsewhere in the Body of Christ. This lovely lady is a strong Christian warrior and a role model for every woman in the church. Her testimony will put a fire in your bones and a dance in your feet. When you see her stand to her feet and hear her begin to tell of the goodness of God and of her battles with illness and the things of this life, you immediately become affected emotionally and feel the spirit of the Lord covering you. She can move you to laugh or cry, just telling her story, and being herself. And be prepared to have goosebumps on your arms and glory in your heart when Sis. Hattie sits down at the piano and opens her mouth to praise God in a song. "Sis. Hattie is a wonderful, powerful singer!" exclaims Sis. Bailey, a member of the Mayfield Church. "She can bring down Heaven to us when she sings!" says another sister. Upon his second visit, a guest, Bro. Clark confided, "every time that woman sings, I cry like a baby...I can't help it, I feel something...I don't know what it is, but I feel it!" We thank God for Sis. Hattie! She is a wonderful person deeply dedicated to the work of the Lord and a marvelous talent. |

| Speaking of singers, the Colemans have two children who are just as accomplished musicians and singers in their own right! Merrill Coleman and his sister Sharissa prove that the Colemans just have great musical talent running through their genes. They both richly bless the church everytime either of them sing a special solo. Sharissa Coleman is a beautiful young lady with just as lovely a voice. "She has alot of the power of her mother's voice paired with the softness of what I imagine angels sound like," says Sis. Bell from Mayfield. Merrill Coleman is not only a tremdous singer, but he has an extraordinary gift at the piano. There is just something extra special about his playing and very original. "He hits notes on that piano that you didn't even know existed...(laughs)...his playing is so unique and original," adds Bro. Steve from the Mayfield Church. |
