|
|
I can't really say I write poetry, but I do right down my feelings and just call them writings. Some are ones that I did in high school and others I have done through the years. Read and enjoy!!! |

The heart is like a mirror You see a reflection of someone you Used to know She had the heart to shatter everyone around her. Anyone wanted to hurt her, she would be prepared. Head up and eyes ready, she would knock them down. When she met you, All was turned upside down Walls built up strong and solid Ceased to exist As time went on, she got to know you better She began to let all the walls crumble against her wishes She knew that it was dangerous She knew the hurt and pain that would come But as far as she could understand You can't guard the heart with the mind No matter how hard she tried The heart always rules over the mind. Now everyday she lives for the fullest Trying not to think of the day to come When the little voice in the back of her mind Tell her "I told you so" (November 26, 1998)

The winds of change was coming She could feel it, Smell it in the air.
She still had hoped It wouldn't come to this And believed it never would
But now, seeing what Was happening And knowing the cause
It would have to happen now Before it was to late
One question remains And everyday its repeated in her head "Why can't there be Peace?"

The day you left mad I was screaming inside I didn't want you to leave But you felt it was best You where the mad one Always holding it inside Never knowing what your next move was I was just waiting, wondering, crying deep inside Just wanting to know waht it was that was eating you up inside You never told me, and I guess I'll never know But the love I feel for you always tends to grow. |

Watching the leaves fall From the trees always Remind me of the life that used to be. I was one of those leaves "Fallen and Forgotten" But you was not afraid You stopped and picked me up one day You showed me how brighten my way To become something wonderful and true You never left me to be raked aside, remaining with the rest You always told me to be my best. You are my tree that holds me tight. Never to release me on a cold night. Never to let go when trouble blows my way I'm writing this to show my gradatude And say "Thank You" for never letting go. decated to Dave, from your loving wife. |

I see an old woman rocking there, The sun shining softly on her silver hair I wonder the secrets she holds deep inside Is she smiling or hiding a tear in her eye? She watches our day as her story unfolds. For you see, she is you, grown old. And with every decision you make today, You're creating the woman you'll be someday. Just for now the old woman depends on you. She waits and she watches. As you make her dreams come true. Be kind to the woman waiting there, For time passes swiftly and you must prepare. . . Be watchful, young woman, choose well today! Remember to live for the woman you'll be someday. |
